Are there any places to tailgate at Simpson?  If so, can you have alcohol?

You can always have alcohol (anywhere) if you are clever enough! ;D

Oh. I guess you meant legally. :P

Where is Dubuque's "Coaches Corner?"

It came on, then said it was buffering, then went off air never to return tonight.  I don't know if they got the problem fixed and it will show up later on the UDBQMedia youtube page or not.

two tailgate lots at Simpson - one just east of the stadium (south end) one west of the stadium - 1st lot fills up fast - alchohol permitted as long as you keep in in the parking lot and stay under control

My keys for a Central win this week are for the Dutch to get penalized less than 40 yards and keep the Simpson qb under 30 yards rushing.  I missed last year's game but it looks like he broke some big runs that had a lot to do with the loss.

Interesting Luther Norse tidbit.  They play with 2 punters.  One right footed, one left footed, you don't know who will get the ball.

So, strength of schedule is determinted by what exactly  ??? Central plays Osh Kosh; UD plays UW-Platteville---those 2 games a wash in my opinion but UD's other 2 UW games much more difficult then centrals. Auggie alone should knock them below UD. And Coe at 40 with non-conf games against cornell and monmouth  ???

These rankings are plan whacked out. I sincerely hope they are not used at seasons end.

SOS defined in rankings header
http://d3football.com/seasons/2013/schedule?tmpl=sos-template

Strength of Schedule
The NCAA Division III playoff selection committee determines strength of schedule using opponents' winning percentage and opponents' opponents' winning percentage. A team's SOS is two-thirds opponents' winning percentage (OWP) and one-third opponents' opponents' winning percentage (OOWP).  This is only part of the process used to determine who will get selected to the NCAA playoffs.

Keep in mind, these numbers should get more accurate as the year plays out. This is part of why they added OOWP to the equation. So Cornell and Monmouth's 'weakness' will in theory become evident when their weak schedules/opponents come more into play.

And it's also why results against Regional Opponents is a criteria. So a team with a great SOS and no games or wins against RR ranked opponents isn't in better shape necessarily than a team with a weaker SOS but 1-1, 2-0, etc. against Regional Ranked teams. It's brings a helpful level subjective wisdom to bear on strict numbers.

So the Regional Committees aren't going to treat results against Cornell and UWP or UWO equally.

Augustana's record is 2-2, which is 2-1 when you take the Central game out of the calculation. They calculate out pretty well, actually.

From a subjective standpoint, aside from the numbers, they finished above .500 in the CCIW last year, a conference that's tougher than the IIAC. That's a good opponent.
