Good luck on Saturday, Wartburg!

I can't bring myself to type it, so I quoted it.
I hope they do well. It's all about the IIAC come playoff time.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Here's to Wartburg.  Keep the IIAC banner flying.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

7-7 11:46 remaining in the first half....

Wartburg dominated 1st quarter, but did not score... then Bethel scored quickly at the beginning of the 2nd (and I am like... uh-oh, here we go).  But the Knights marched right down the field and scored to answer.  Will be interesting to see how it goes from here.

Update:

14-7 Bethel at half...  Wartburg is playing well, but Bethel has made some big plays on offense.

Thanks for the updates. I'm running errands so my phone is the only way to keep up.

End of 3rd Quarter... tied at 14.

But  Bethel is on a drive deep in Wartburg Territory.

****************************

Bethel held to a field goal (that BARELY made it through)

17-14 with 12:54 to go in the game.

****************************

Wow!!!

Wartburg scores on 75 yard pass play.  Bethel blocks extra point returns for points.

Wartburg 20 Bethel 18 with a little over 12 mins to play.

*****************************

Game has turned into a shootout...

Bethel 26 Wartburg 20  bout 9 mins left

*****************************

17.6 seconds left in Arden Hills... 34 - 27 Bethel leads....  Wartburg in the red zone.  Darn fun game to watch!

*****************************

6.4 seconds left... 1 TO left for Wartburg, ball on 13 yard line.

*****************************

Wartburg's season ends on the Bethel 13 yard line as time expires.....

Nice season,  I think this game was closer than the D3 prognisticators predicted.

Fannosaurus Rex

Tied at 14 at the end of the 3rd.  Bethel driving.

I heard 34-27 Bethel over Wartburg.  Good showing by the Knights as the game went right down to the end.

Great game Wartburg. I went on record saying I didn't want to face this squad again...today showed the reason why. You guys played hard from the start, made big plays and gave us all we could handle.

One bone to pick, quit injuring our players  :P First our kicker, now our QB  >:(

You guys should have a tough team next year.

Fannosaurus Rex

Tough loss for the Warts.  But it looked to me like they did a pretty good job of representing the IIAC.  I don't like this talk about how young they are.  At least Central should get them at home in 2014.

Congratulations to the Knights for going beyond what I think you ever could have done this year.
I didn't expect you could ever have come close to Bethel being the weaker team, but you did!

I suppose it shows that the IIAC has a way to go in the D III future.

Good going, knights !

Way to represent the IIAC, Wartburg! We were keeping track of your game, and hoping for a win. You certainly stayed with them right to the end.

Congratulations on your season and making it to the top 16 in the country.
