Wartburg Athletics ‏@KnightsSID  notes:

  • DYK: @wartburgFB head coach Willis ranks 13th among all active NCAA coaches in win percentage? He ranks ahead of Bob Stoops at Oklahoma.
  • DYK: @wartburgFB HC Willis ranks seventh among all active @NCAADIII coaches in win percentage (min. 5 years at institution). 140-35= .800
  • DYK: This is the 80th season of @WartburgFB? Also, the Knights are one win from 400 in program history.

OK.  Willis has a great deserved record.  My question still is, has Wartburg ever been in a Bowl game......at any level?

This stinks...no more Wartburg fans around to troll anymore.  Well, there will be some come November if they are undefeated and looking to make another deep run in the playoffs  ;)

Nothing intended ....just looking at history of IIAC........has Wartburg ever played in a Bowl game?

Don,t be too touchy if not.  They have done well lately if not historically.  Just looking for history.

Looking at the map does that mean the TKE house could be a thing of the past?

The TKE house is slated for rehabilitation per the map. Which is fitting since so may TKE's ended up in rehab.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Not touchy at all, if you were looking at history I believe you could or did find the answer yourself.  I didn't know the last time central was in a "bowl game" off the top of my head.

Okay I laughed out loud at this comment.  I have some friends that were TKE's and I believe what you say.

Now we know why Nebraska Wesleyan wanted to join the Iowa Conference...according to this link, Iowa is the most American state in the union  ;)

Outside the Crate

No Wartburg football team has appeared in a bowl game.

There is a good and lengthy reference to Wartburg in the pre-season podcast on this website (at minute 11:32):  http://www.d3blogs.com/d3football/2015/08/16/around-the-nation-podcast-we-couldnt-wait-either/

Tyler Rutenbeck, former all IIAC receiver for the University of Dubuque Spartans was waived today by the Indianapolis Colts.  Good try.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

With temps in the 50's it feels like football weather.  I found a pic of practice from yesterday, now I think I will practice loading up the vehicle with tailgating supplies...gotta get my timing right  ;)
