Simpson steals radio station away from Central!!!

Would love to get the low down on this story.  This could cause some acrimony  ;)

Not a theft - sharing!

Central football will remain on 92.1 KRLS, our KRLS stream at www.kniakrls.com and the KRLS mobile app.  I'm excited to be back for my 15th season on the mic for the Dutch.

Simpson football can be heard on AM 1320 / FM 95.3 KNIA, our KNIA stream at www.kniakrls.com and the KNIA mobile app.  Long-time Indianola resident Rick Wilson has joined our team to call the games for the Storm.
What a relief.  The prospect of a football season without "The Voice of The Dutch," was just too depressing.  As for loathsome Simpson and where they get their radio, meh.  Actually the few times I ever listened to any of their broadcasts, it sounded like they let students do it and, much as it pains me to say anything positive about Simpson, they weren't bad.

Central looks to be unveiling a new mascot this weekend. Not sure about you all, but I've always liked teams whose on field mascot is different from the team name (iowa state, Standford, Alabama, etc) and looks like that's the direction Central is going.

I know someone posted about doing a pick 'em this year, and I posted in the IIAC pick 'em thread and would be willing to run it this year. You would just be picking the winner, not against the spread. If you'd like to do it, wonderful, but if not the thread can just die.

Thanks for the kind words Fannosaurus!  I can't wait for tomorrow night to get it going.

We are excited to grow our promotion and coverage of small college football.  Regarding coverage of Simpson, I get it that Central fans could take or leave what happens to the Storm (and generally prefer to leave it!).  Rick Wilson will do a great job, and while some of the students have been good at Simpson, it will be nice for them to have a consistent voice for fans to listen to.

Also, I might be getting soft as I get a little bit older, but when you bleed Central red like many of us do, you're trained to hate the enemy, and Simpson is certainly one of those.  But the little bit of time that I've gotten to spend with Coach Glo and Bryan Geelan (their SID), they're really good people over at Simpson, too.  That doesn't mean I'm not going to be pulling for a Dutch route on Halloween - but the other 9 weeks, we can all play nice!!
Listen to Central College football on 92.1 KRLS, www.kniakrls.com and the KRLS app.

You have the job!  ;)

I'll put my picks in later today.

A good idea is to post on here a few times a week to remind posters to get their picks in.  You can even PM them...if you can do that with so few posts...to remind them.

Thanks for doing this.

In the teaser it looks like a cross between Santa Claus and Yoda on steroids.  I can't wait to get a good look at him/her/it.  I get that it has a big appetite but it would have been more fearsome if it devoured something other than a loaf of French Toast.  If it chowed down about ten pounds of Pella Bologna, that would have been something to strike terror in opponents' hearts.

Somewhere in Pella there is a Central College freshman lamenting the fact he didn't get a cushy, air conditioned office work study job, and is in fact playing a mascot in a foam suit and being made to run up and down the sidelines during hot football weekends for his work study money  ;D

WooClone15 ... thanks for taking on the Pick 'Em.

My guess is this week there will be a log-jam at the top.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Is it on a radio station? I wouldn't mind trying to find it online

Luther had some app you had to download to listen to their station that I didn't do.  I have the UWL live stats up while I attempt to get some work done.

If you find the game on the D3Football.com scoreboard you will see where it says video.  Click on it.

I think the Central mascot is Elsie the Borden's Cow dressed in a Santa Claus suit.

I hope you didn't take my advice.  Luther was down 8 and driving on the La Crosse side of the field with 30 seconds to go.  Luther took its last time out and then a Jamesons whiskey commercial came on.  When it was over, so was the game.
