Wartburg always starts their homecoming game at 1:30.
I didn't know it is Wartburg's bye week too.  I was looking for an edge.  Shucks!

Well Central will have had 2 consecutive bye weeks for all intents and purposes, so there's your edge back.

certainly you jest.

Not at all. No disrespect to the competition, however, when most of your starters only play 1 quarter, it's essentially a bye.

OK.  I was thinking you meant the game AFTER the bye week.....Wartburg, .....right?

Well after the post by WB_Knights13 I was thinking Wartburg might pull a Simpson and start 3-0 before finishing 0-7 in conference play  ...so notlongago would be correct that Wartburg was a bye week  ;D

Pat, please explain Karma.  I have no clue.
Once you hit 200 posts, you can give positive or negative karma to a poster. If someone makes a good point, you can throw some positive karma their way. If someone posts that Phred's momma is so fat she could play on the line for Wartburg, then you can hit them with negative karma.

Though that would be kinda unfair if the allegation was true. :o ;D

The fatal flaw with karma as a tool to keep 'trolls' (or generally good posters who stepped over the line this time) in line is that there is no way of knowing WHY karma points are given or for what (it could be someone belatedly being offended by a two-week-old post they just read) - likewise, karma is often given or 'smites' administered just because you cheer for the 'right' or 'wrong' team.

Congratulations Duhawks - Ranked 4th Nationally!

Total Offense - thru 9/19/2015
    Team
  YPG
1 Albion
662.3
2 Wesley
640.5
3 Guilford
639.3
4 Loras
601.0
5 Thomas More
599.3

10-15 years ago Loras was so tough on defense and average on offense that the combined total yardage of the Duhawks and the opponent was below 600 yards almost every week.  Like B.V. in recent seasons it will be interesting to see how often the 2015 Duhawks get into shootouts in league play.

Trivia Question I though of while watching tonight's UWW-Morningside game: When is the last time Whitewater lost to an Iowa-based school? I'm sure it's been a long time, but I'm not sure exactly how long.

Loras has found themselves an offense. The Duhawk defense is a mess, but they have themselves a heck of an offense.

That'll happen when you hire a Wartburg alum to be your Offensive Coordinator.

Central beat Whitewater 16-13 at Whitewater in the 1988 quarter-finals. It was a very exciting game and I was lucky enough to be there. They followed up by beating Augustana in over-time in Pella in the semis, another game I saw live in person, and losing to Ithaca in the Stagg Bowl. It will take more than a football game, even the Stagg Bowl, to get me to make a trip to Alabama so I missed that one.  It was broadcast on cable, which I didn't have at the time.  A friend recorded it and sent me the VCR tape so I got to watch it a week later. It wasn't an awful game but there was never much doubt Ithaca had Central's number.
