To lighten the mood a bit.  When Cornell was in the conference we would often comment about the trains than ran just behind the visitor seating.

Take a look at this stadium where the train runs BETWEEN the stands and field.

Although, the Knights have given up the big play on D, & not finished drives/put the game away on O. This has allowed teams to stick around longer than I am sure the coaching staff would like. At the halfway point, the Warts need to step it up if they expect to get the AQ & have some success in the postseason. Today would be a good day to start!

Now, I realize Wartburg's wins recently haven't been super impressive, with their best win being over Bethel...but for UW-Oshkosh to pull an upset and be ranked ahead of Wartburg still with 1 loss? That's ridiculous.

Although Wartburg's wins have seemingly been less than impressive this season, they have won, and they haven't lost a regular season game dating back to November 2, 2013. This is where the regular season D3 rankings really fall short and mean anything. There aren't a lot of voters, and there is plenty of bias. #8 is good, but to have two 1 loss teams ranked in front of that? Complete joke.

And yes, I realize that Oshkosh's loss was to Robert Morris. However, two of their wins are over Finlandia (1-5) and North Park University (1-4).

Wartburg should be happy they're in the top 15. They are riding the coat tails of last seasons ranking. Can you honestly say they've looked like a top 10 team at any point this year? No you can't. If they don't figure it out soon, we'll have a repeat of the IIAC playoff rep from a few seasons back.

The scariest thing to think about is when Wartburg executes for an entire game, and it will happen - It's going to be a tough day for the opponent it happens against. Look, they've improved each week, there's no doubt about it. If they continue that upward trend, work on the goal line offense (that adds 2 scores to the Central game and at least one more to the Coe Game - since scoring is apparently the most important thing now, and then those games are not even close) develop a couple more weapons at WR, I think they will be a very sound team in November. I also believe that Central will continue to play well as the season goes on and will continue to improve - they should win out.

Same can be said for 75% of the teams out there. Take an objective look. You can make a case Central should've beaten Benedictine and Wartburg to be undefeated. They're not, just the nature of the game.

I don't want to tell any of you how to look at things but from my perspective Dubuque dominated Wartburg.   ;) Congrats to Coach Z and the Spartans.  turning their season around.
