Technical question....

When I log on, including the duration which I wish to be "on", the board always makes me put
Name and password in again.

Any tricks to staying logged in ?

If you aren't accepting cookies from D3boards.com then it can't keep you logged in. That's one of the things cookies do. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

So far, the college has pointed to declining enrollment and a $3.7 million budget gap as a reason for the cuts. Graham Garner, a Wartburg spokesman, said the college has seen a decline in enrollment for each of the last five years, from just over 1,800 students in 2011 to about 1,537 today. That's partly due to the national debate over college value, he said, as well as local factors: a shrinking high school feeder population in Iowa and more aggressive in-state recruiting by public universities, due to new legislative incentives for enrolling Iowans.

Moral of the story...
A - Build up that endowment.
B - Look outside the borders of Iowa to help build your enrollment and enrich every ones experience.
C - Keep building up that endowment.

I'll be sure to pop some popcorn before sitting down to the computer tomorrow afternoon  ;D

I get to write reports at all sorts of odd hours. The curse of having a home office! The good part of having a home office is I can listen to UD football games while in the office ;)

Coe College is embarking on the largest capital project in its history, one which will provide unparalleled benefits for future generations of students while creating pride among all Kohawks.  Make Your Move – the Campaign for Eby and Hickok – includes $23 million in essential campus enhancements, including the athletic and recreation complex project as well as the renovation and expansion of Hickok Hall.  The result will be vastly improved academic, recreational, wellness and competition facilities.

Outside the Crate

The Inside Higher Education article referenced above, in my judgment, is bad journalism.  I don't know why the termination of three faculty members has attracted the newspaper's attention.  It seems like this is something that just about every campus experiences from time-to-time.  It's happened before, and it will happen again -- pretty much everywhere.
The problem, of course, is what messages are conveyed.  Years ago, if you knew enrollment trends for a college you had a pretty good idea of how they're doing.  That's no longer the case.  Now you need to know net tuition revenue, which, of course, no one is offering.  In short, Wartburg has never been in better shape financially, and I was told applications for admission for next year are up about 300%.  They also are nearly complete on a successful $ 75 M capital campaign.  These journalists elected not to share these kinds of things.
Now, to our central topic:  I think it's going to be very difficult for Wartburg to earn a playoff berth.  UD has wrapped up the automatic and there are only six Pool C bids.  There are a lot of deserving teams, and I think the math is tough.

edolee

UD has wrapped it up?  If WB wins out, and UD loses to Coe and Central, WB gets the automatic bid I think.  Perhaps not likely, but certainly possible.
