Good luck, Dubuquians. Get ready for a strong Johnnie O, a very reliable Johnnie D, and no trick plays just for the hell of it!

Boo.  Hiss.  The Iowa Conference gets treated poorly again in the playoff picture.  UD, as the conference champ, should not have to travel to the MIAC's # 2.

Conference champ, yes, but UD lost handily to that MIAC #2 already this season, so how would the committee justify putting SJU on the road at UD?

Well, I could kinda, sorta see the committee arguing a conference champ takes precedence for a home game over a 2nd place team, given that was the 1st week of the season and teams change over the course of the year.  I could see that if I squint through royal blue tinted glasses...but agree the committee made the correct choice of sending Dubuque back north.

Fingers crossed Dubuque can reverse the earlier result  ;)

Saint Norbert (a conference champ) is traveling to the WIAC's #2 so Dubuque isn't the only conference champ to travel.

Not Dubuquians.  Unless things have changed, it is Dubuquer ... rhymes with Euchre ... which was the game of the day back in the 60s.

Anyway, I believe the Spartans will be ready for Johnnie.

Johnnie who?  If you mean Johnny Benson, the SJU's back-up QB, well good for the Spartans.  I doubt that the Spartans will be ready for the Johnnies, though.

It's been a wonderful journey with a large group of outstanding seniors, particularly Logan Schrader, Robbie Anstoetter, Brandon Domeyer, Gunner Tranel, and Grant Zimmerman (those I know best).  All are really fine players who have displayed outstanding character.  They and their fellow seniors will do well in life!

I, too, have wondered why there isn't more discussion anywhere as to why Wartburg was not in the Pool C discussion to any degree.

My guess is Wartburg would have received serious consideration if they had lost to Dubuque by single digits.  I think a 32 point loss to an 8-2 team, instead of a 10-0 team also was a big strike against the Knights.

I think they were a legit C candidate; (a little orange blinders here) as much as Whitworth. However, with the West so loaded with C's & RAC having them below UWP & Whitworth before the final secret RR - odds were stacked pretty high against them. My fingers were crossed they would move ahead of Whitworth (thinking Whit would end up behind UWP) in the final RR, but understood if they didn't. The Knights needed some help from the other regions, Wesley in as the AQ, etc. It was still going to be a stretch -  they weren't getting to the board until the end. Too bad for the seniors, but so it goes in D3.

late to the party here & my opinion: West RAC dropped the ball not getting UWP to the board.

Boo Hiss.  I stand my ground.  A team that wins its conference championship with an unblemished record should always get to host unless they are playing another conference champion.  You win the trophy, you get the bacon.  Sorry, St. John's, but you you didn't win your conference title.  So the MIAC has two teams hosting?  Boo Hiss.  The WIAC has two teams hosting?   St. Norbert is undefeated and won their conference championship, but they have to travel to Whitewater?  Boo Hiss.  Either it's a level playing field or it's not!  If the colleges with 10,000 students want to play with schools a fifth their size they already have a huge advantage.  They don't need a home field advantage, too.
