Sorry.  That may have been me.  But I am unaffiliated denomination-wise

It not's that surprising that a Methodist school wouldn't be neutral on alcohol. As the fount of the 'holiness tradition' that's where their roots are. Sorta like being surprised by a Lutheran school that's named Concordia   ;)

Dutch Reformed humor for you:

Why do you always invite 2 Christian Reformed guys to go on the fishing trip?

Because if you invite 2, they won't touch the beer, if you only invite one, he'll drink all of it!  8-)

A couple things:

1)
From a quick look at google maps, there are at least three parking lots across the street from the NWU football field that don't appear to be "on-campus," and if those are a no-go, there are a few bars that appear to be walking distance-ish.

2)
I've seen Wartburg students/alums having a good time in Pella on game days. If that's possible, it'll be possible at NWU.

3)
I just launched an interactive graph that aims to project end-of-season results. For the IIAC, the most likely outcomes are as follows:

Team  Overall  Conference  Pool A Probability
Wartburg  9-1  (7-1)  49.55%
Dubuque  7-3  (6-2)  20.73%
Coe  7-3  (6-2)  12.48%
Central  7-3  (5-3)  10.97%
Simpson  5-5  (4-4)  4.79%
Luther  3-7  (3-5)  0.72%
Loras  3-7  (2-6)  0.40%
Buena Vista  1-8  (1-7)  0.33%
Nebraska Wesleyan  1-8  (1-7)  0.03%

How are you at picking horses?

Real ones or hypothetical? As far as hypothetical horses go, the model's preseason ratings can predict a team's offensive and defensive points per game within plus or minus seven points for about two thirds of teams, and within 14 points per game for about 90% of teams. As far as my in-season game predictions go, we'll see how everything pans out compared to other systems. ThePredictionTracker (http://www.thepredictiontracker.com/ncaaresults.php) doesn't keep track of how rating systems do predicting scores for DIII games, so I'm trying to build a system to do so. It's proving to be tricky though, because some of the better systems have a paywall between users and their game predictions.

The new entry into the conference certainly isn't getting much love.
Are they that bad?
Will the IIAC become the INIAC?

Tailgating per NWU football boosters
https://sites.google.com/site/nwuparentboosters/

I think it's important to note that:
1. The site concerns tailgating for NWU Football Boosters
2. Even for them, there is no indication that consumption of adult beverages are part of the festivities. At least not an officially sanctioned part. However, since this is evidently operated by the Boosters, perhaps alcohol is just an "automatic." Something that is understood without being mentioned. It's very difficult to comprehend anything associated with celebrating at a college football football game not including adult beverages. Especially at other than a primarily religiously orientated institution in the grand state of Nebraska. 😉
However, some trepidation is evidently due as evidenced by a previous poster who indicated he rec'd a note from NWU indication no alcohol is permitted on any open areas of campus.
Also noteworthy is that the site referenced indicates the tailgating is done in a park. Maybe it's a CITY park not controlled by the school? Maybe they welcome visitors from the competing school? Worth checking?

PARKING

If you are talking about the lot immediately north of the stadium, that is for the Townhouse Village (dorms) parking. This lot may be guarded/locked with only residents allowed. The lot immediately northwest of the stadium is the Suites Village parking lot. I think you can park here, but no alcoholic tailgating. Both lots are definitely ON campus. There is a lot running east-west immediately south of the stadium on the north side of Huntington Ave. This is NOT a residence parking lot, but is definitely ON campus. There are 2 small lots on the south side of Huntington that you enter off 54th Street. These MIGHT not be considered as being ON campus.  :)

FOOD

If you think pizza when you are in Lincoln, try Valentino's. Long, long ago, when I was at NWU, they only had the original location at 35th & Holdrege, about 10 mins SW from campus. Now there are 30+ locations across the state. At the time it was the 2nd best (thin crust) pizza I ever had. All these years later I've still only had 2, maybe 3, that I've liked better. Maybe it's really slipped over the years. I don't know. But if its anything like it was then, it's certainly worth trying.

For a Nebraska original, you may want to consider a RUNZA (terrible name 😮) sandwich. Its been around since 1966 and is an official Cornhusker food served at U of Nebraska football games where they sell 10,000-15,000 per game. It's seasoned ground beef mixed with cabbage and onions in a baked-in-store bun. You either love it or hate it. The NWU stadium is at the NW corner of Huntington (E-W) & 56th St (N-S). There is a Runza hut about 3/4 of a mile south on 56th on the W side.

Should you avoid traveling to NWU if the Cornhuskers have a home game the same day?

And, uh, we're at 39 days until the 2016 season gets underway

Just to get everyone mad and hot under the collar.  There may be a chance I'm wearing royal blue shaded glasses.  Here are my guesses.

Dubuque 8-0 ...Just like last year, and with a win over NWU
Central/Coe/Wartburg 6-2 ...each loses to Dubuque, each goes 1-1 against each other
Luther/Simpson 3-5 ...Luther sticks to last years results and their option offense gets them a win against NWU.  Simpson sticks to last years win total, but takes a loss to Coe and a win against NWU
Loras/NWU 2-6 ...Loras sticks to last years script, but loses to Central and new boys NWU.  NWU will pick up wins against Loras and BVU, but like Cornell their last few years in the IIAC, everybody has to work to get the W against NWU but their record will suck
Buena Vista 0-8 ...no joy on Storm Lake for the Beavers
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Not necessarily.
I think you might have a problem if you wanted to go Fri and get a hotel room, or to find a room to stay over Sat night. If thats your desire, better call now. NWU is several miles NW of downtown in a residential area. U of Nowledge  :D  is right downtown with the stadium being only a couple blocks north of the bar-restaurant area, the main part of which is the Haymarket District which is nice but very busy on weekend nights, and insane on NU football weekends. If you want to stay over and want to go downtown it would be very crowded both Fri and Sat. Otherwise, I don't think the game itself at NWU should be adversely affected by a NU home game, especially if one is an afternoon game and the other an evening contest.

Oops. Guess somebody didn't like all the non strictly football talk. Got an el dingo.  ::)
Sorry.
