Sorry.

Or it could have come from your snarky basketball post from earlier.

35 days ...or...5 weeks until opening kickoff
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

One month from today the 2016 season kicks off

Tonight I looked up the current rosters of 1st through 4th place from last year.  Dubuque, Wartburg, Central, Coe.  Obviously these rosters will change over the next few weeks.

I will remind everyone that Milwaukee and Chicago are closer to Dubuque than Des Moines

36 - Illinois
12 - Iowa
06 - Wisconsin
03 - California
02 - Arizona
02 - Hawaii
01 - Alaska
01 - Georgia
01 - Texas

Wartburg shows a roster of 83 sophomores through Seniors and another 2 freshman with no info.

19 - Seniors
30 - Juniors
34 - Sophomores

73 - Iowa
04 - Illinois
03 - Minnesota
01 - Alabama
01 - Missouri
01 - Wisconsin

Central shows an incredibly large roster of 124 sophomores through seniors.

33 - Seniors
44 - Juniors
47 - Sophomores

81 - Iowa
19 - Illinois
09 - Arizona
05 - Kansas
03 - Minnesota
02 - Missouri
01 - California
01 - Colorado
01 - Washington D.C.
01 - Florida
01 - Nebraska

Coe shows a roster of 62 sophomores through senior on the roster.

20 - Seniors
16 - Juniors
26 - Sophomores

45 - Iowa
08 - Illinois
04 - Missouri
02 - Minnesota
01 - Florida

Simpson, Loras, Luther, and BVU rounded out the IIAC last year.

Simpson shows a roster of 87 sophomores through seniors.

19 - Seniors
30 - Juniors
38 - Sophomores

73 - Iowa
05 - Missouri
03 - Arizona
02 - Colorado
01 - California
01 - Illinois
01 - Kansas
01 - Minnesota

Loras shows a roster of 64 sophomores through seniors

18 - Seniors
25 - Juniors
21 - Sophomores

43 - Illinois
17 - Iowa
02 - Wisconsin
01 - Indiana
01 - Michigan

Luther does not have a roster showing on their website...that I notice anyway

Buena Vista doesn't appear to have updated their roster from last season.

Whoa Central. 124? I wouldn't be that surprised if it weren't so evenly spread throughout the classes. A senior class of 33 is huge (especially compared to 9 @ DBQ). Are they still bringing in freshman classes of ~100?

I am a little surprised Wartburg only has 4 guys from IL. When I was there it seemed like there were more than that, and I know they send at least one coach recruiting to the Illinois side of the Quad Cities.

Also, if you can get to Chicago from Dubuque faster than you can get to Des Moines, you're taking the wrong route to Des Moines.

I would be more excited about all of the Central upper classmen if they had won more games the last couple of years.  Just the same Go Dutch!

It was all happening really fast, but Travis Stevens of the US Judo Team sure looked to me a lot like Chuck Norris.  And not just because he was kicking a$$.  Further, I have watched about five minutes of Olympic Rugby which about doubles my total of rugby viewing.  I wonder if retired ruggers have the same instance of brain damage as football players.

Rugby does look rough.  Happy just to watch it on TV from my office than to try to play it  ;)

As far as listening to sports goes.  The voice of the Dutch ...and sometimes poster on here has a new podcast where they talk Iowa sports...with a dose of IIAC talk.  Maybe if a few of us on here ask politely they will add even more IIAC content  ;D

I know the audience is small for wanting IIAC content, but would be fun to see more of it out there from the other conference schools.

I'll post this so I can compare the numbers at the end of camp, and again at the end of the season.

Dubuque added 73 to their roster this week.

66 Freshman
05 Sophomores
02 Juniors

A Sophomore of note is the return of Austin Morgan.  He had a strong Freshman campaign at WR in 2012 before leaving on his Mormon mission.  He is a welcome addition back to the family.

Other posters on here, feel free to do the same for your team.

DBQ1965

Nebraska Wesleyan opens with 4 straight home games, something about which they are making a big deal.  I don't know about McPherson College as the season opener, but then the Prairie Wolves meet Illinois Wesleyan, Wartburg, and Coe.  Starting off possibly at 1-3, they then go on the road to face Luther and UD on consecutive weekends before getting Central back in Lincoln.  Could be a long season for them.  Any Prairie Wolves fans want to chime in?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

I noticed tonight that Coe already has their 2017 schedule posted.

http://www.coeathletics.com/schedule/15/5.php

09/03 - @ UW-River Falls
09/09 - Cornell
09/16 - @ NWU
09/23 - Simpson
09/30 - @ Wartburg
10/07 - BYE
10/14 - Central
10/21 - @ Loras
10/28 - Luther
11/04 - @ Dubuque
11/11 - BVU

If that is to be believed, they will play 2 straight years @ NWU, get Central at home 2 straight years, play @ Dubuque 2 straight years, get BVU at home 2 straight years.
