Hope to see many former Kohawks at the game this weekend!!! Plenty of people live in town and the surrounding area. Let's get a great turnout by alumni and pack K. Ray field!
:o
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Congratulations to Coe on the conference sweep, best of luck in the playoffs.  Do well and earn back the respect that the IIAC used to hold when we could get two teams in the playoffs.

Central used to be able to recruit very well from Pella High with a lot of top players wanting to play for Coach Schipper as he was such a legend in town.  Now staying in town for college is a harder sell, sad to see when many assistant coaches for Pella High are Central grads.  Some want to go out of town, some want the shot at the big time, like Noah Clayberg who is grey shirting for Iowa this fall.  His dad was a Central grad, his mom coached 3 national championship VB teams at Central and his uncle is still the VB coach.  We didn't even get a chance.

Central might have had a shot at some Pella Christian kids if Dordt had not added football.  If the kids go to a private college it is almost always Dordt.  More are going to state and community colleges than in the past with finances possibly playing a large role, but breaking the Dordt funnel out of Pella Christian is no easy task.  Would love to see David Kacmarynski at Central next year, particularly with our QB graduating.  Both of his parents are Central grads, but I don't have any idea what he is thinking.

Congratulations to all of the seniors who played their last college game on Saturday, or in UD's case, the week before.  Go out and represent your schools with pride.

Kudos to Pat and the D3 Team for redesigning the site.  Since I use my phone to follow D3 football at a variety of stadiums (stadia?), having a mobile friendly site will be great.

DOUBLE KUDOS to Mrs. Doolittle for taking care of IIAC  pick'ems this year.  We appreciate your efforts and your patience.  I hope David appreciates you.

GO SPARTANS!
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

When did Dordt add football?  8-)

Is there a designated tailgate area around the stadium?  I didn't see much on the Coe site..

After years of beyond bad football, that led to many jokes (especially among Northwestern fans)  Dordt went and hired themselves a HC from Northwestern...and went 5-6 this year.  So, uh, this year to answer your question  ;D

Since I am on and it might be a day or so until Coocoo shows back up...If there is a tailgate area it's recent.  Best bet is to get there early and park in a street next to the stadium.  Wartburg fans liked to park at a bar and then walk to the stadium.

Touche!

Although if you know anything about the NW Iowa dutch mafia, the only stat that matters was NWC 64 - Dordt 16. NWC would still claim they're waiting for Dordt to unveil their team. And most (nearly all) of the talent from Unity and Western (CRC schools) still goes to NWC.

Jay Anderson resigns as BVU HC

Well, that's a surprising turn. I met Jay a couple of years ago, and it definitely didn't seem like the coaching life was wearing on him too heavily. After a good season this year, I'm pretty surprised about this. I wonder if we're going to hear about him accepting a new position elsewhere sometime this week.

Coaches exempted from overtime pay

"Coaches: Athletic coaches and assistant coaches may fall under the exemption if their primary duty is teaching, which may include instructing athletes in how to perform their sport. If, however, their duties primarily include recruiting athletes or doing manual labor, they are not considered teachers. A coach could primarily be responsible for instructing athletes but also spend some time recruiting or doing manual labor and still be considered ineligible for overtime."
