Looks like BVU is going to have a coach specifically tasked w/ recruiting the West Coast/Hawai'i. link

Hard to sustain a recruiting base w/o focusing in your backyard in my opinion.

So far BVU has 3 returning coaches and the new HC brought in 1 coach with him from Hastings.  None are coordinators.  The coach he brought in from Hastings went to Linfield and is from Hawaii.  That would make sense to see him go after west coast and Hawaii players.  It would also be wise to target Sioux City, Council Bluffs/Omaha, Ft Dodge, Des Moines, Sioux Falls and the western half of Iowa.

New Minnesota coach Fleck had "row the boat" as his catch phrase at Western Michigan.  Looks like coach Mollring has #buildthedam going at BVU.  Catchy I guess

Is Storm Lake a reservoir?
I'm not sure. The lake itself doesn't have a wikipedia page.

From lakelubbers.com  Storm Lake, at 3,097 acres, is one of the largest natural lakes in the state.  From the Iowa DNR, during a 2008 mapping, the deepest depth was 20.4 ft.

Supposedly the lake was named after a trapper called it storm lake after a storm blew through.  Beaver trapper...Buena Vista Beavers...it all makes sense  ;)

When Mollring was at Doane, he recruited SoCal, particularly Orange County and San Diego.  Plenty of kids looking to continue to play football from there...though the weather can be a tough sell.

I would think the remoteness of Storm Lake might make BVU a tough sell for SoCal kids as well.

And obviously bits and pieces of the rest of the schedules are in as well. Here's where you can see them:

Thanks for that, somehow I missed that when I looked around.  Interesting that both BVU and Wartburg have mid-season games against Washington U.

Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

No worries -- you didn't miss them. I've been adding pages in bunches over the past couple of weeks.

Wash U and the IIAC are a nice fit next year. The IIAC has those midseason bye weeks because of the odd number of teams and Wash U is an independent in 2017 only, with many dates to fill.
