Luther buys Joe's Night Hawk  ;)

http://wartburgcircuit.org/joes-knighthawk-receives-offer/

Check the date of the story. The deal had fallen through by rasslin' season. Don't know why but with the Fainting Goat closing about that time maybe Joe wanted to keep his golden egg goose.

The Goat closed last fall before football season ended last fall. Site is for sale or lease if someone wants to re-open it. ;D

The Goat is closing? I hadn't heard that.

I also think it's funny for the current students to talk so fondly of Joe's as a "gathering place." More like, "I really liked getting sloppy drunk and really sweaty there on Saturday nights."
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

If AEN or Outsidethecrate or maybe someone else on here are involved with Knight Vision, thank you.  Our daughter was in the Meistersinger Honor Band Festival today.  With the Super Bowl being a blow out, I am now watching her performance.  Even getting some close ups of her with the multiple cameras.  While being in the crowd this afternoon was nice, you get a much better experience watching it!  Thanks again.

I will let those involved with Knightvision know. I caught some of it, stage seemed pretty dark to me while watching on line.

Since it's the offseason and there isn't too much actual football to talk about.  A Dubuque student has a drone and took a video of campus.

This got me thinking...Will we soon see drone video while watching our favorite IIAC teams on StretchInternet, of NightVision, or whatever Loras calls their network?
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

I'd prefer drone beverage service  ;)

Mt Mercy will not add football "for now"

http://www.mountmercymustangs.com/article/1797.php

"Mount Mercy University has...strategic focus on its growing graduate and online programs"

Declining demographics directing decision

From: 2016 ONLINE EDUCATION TRENDS
"In the latest report on online education from the Babson Group, 70% of academic leaders surveyed said that "online learning is critical to their institution's long-term strategy" [7]. Each institution must weigh the pros and cons of offering online programs carefully, and many are choosing to offer not only web courses, but also full degrees. While the initial design and development of these academic opportunities can be time consuming and expensive, they ultimately provide access to new student populations."

D3football.com is doing a good job of piecing the 2017 schedules together.  As far as the non-con games for IIAC schools, the only unknowns are 2nd games for Loras, Luther, and Simpson.

BVU
08/30 Mayville St (NAIA)
10/14 @ Washington University (St. Louis)

Central
09/02 Whitworth
09/09 Augustana

Coe
09/02 @ UW-River Falls
09/09 Cornell

Dubuque
09/02 @ Bethel
09/09 Pacific

Loras
09/02 @ Elmhurst

Luther
09/09 St. Olaf

NWU
09/02 Concordia-Moorhead
09/09 @ Illinois Wesleyan

Simpson
09/02 UW-Stout

Wartburg
09/09 Monmouth
09/23 Washington University (St. Louis)

Maybe HansenRatings can do an analysis of the non-con IIAC schedule!

HansenRatings

I don't have ratings for NAIA schools, so no prediction for BVU/Mayville St., but here's each IIAC school's win probability for everyone else:

BVU
10/14 @ Washington University (St. Louis) - 22.2%

Central
09/02 Whitworth - 66.5%
09/09 Augustana - 83.5%

Coe
09/02 @ UW-River Falls - 51.1%
09/09 Cornell - 99.1%

Dubuque
09/02 @ Bethel - 34.6%
09/09 Pacific - 83.1%

Loras
09/02 @ Elmhurst - 6.4%

Luther
09/09 St. Olaf - 75.7%

NWU
09/02 Concordia-Moorhead - 11.7%
09/09 @ Illinois Wesleyan - 8.5%

Simpson
09/02 UW-Stout - 36.5%

Wartburg
09/09 Monmouth - 42.2% (I'm interested to see how returning starters affects this estimate, I have a feeling Wartburg will be favorites by September)
09/23 Washington University (St. Louis) - 76.8%
Follow me on Twitter. I post fun graphs sometimes. @LogHanRatings

Will UD returning 10 starters on defense affect this estimate?

In this day, with rotating players in and out of play, could returning 2-deep players also affect your ratings?

Just trying to give you headaches with more data to contemplate  ;D
