Nice win for the Knights on the nasty blue field to remain undefeated on the season.  Keep grinding boys.

This Saturday I am taking my daughter to an IIAC double header in Waverly.  IIAC cross country championships at 11am, followed by the UD/Wartburg game at 1pm.  Will the cross country championships be held at the Max Championship Cross Country Course just north west of Walston Hoover stadium...or will they be held at a golf course or something like that elsewhere in Waverly?

Bremer Ave from 1st St W to 10th St. W is a construction mess.

The restaurant that replaced "The Goat" - "Sasquatch Jacks" is worth a visit.

She tells me that sounds like a great place to warm up after the cold of the game!  Will we run into you there? Thanks for the heads up on traffic.  It's been almost 2 months since I was in town and I had forgot about all the road work they were up to.

Probably not. I'll being heading to Women's soccer match once the FB game is over - literally or figuratively.

Working on a new visualization, and figured this would be as great a place as any to get people's thoughts.

The graphs below use my opponent-adjusted stats for explosiveness (yards/play), efficiency (first down rate), and scoring (points/drive). Larger areas are better (Mount Union's graph is just a giant circle). The quadrants break down as:
Top Right = Rush O
Bot Right = Pass O
Bot Left = Rush D
Bot Left = Pass D

Here's Wartburg vs. Dubuque

So as you can see from this, Dubuque's rushing offense appears to be the strength of their team. They struggle with passing efficiency on both offense and defense, which isn't great, because Wartburg's passing offense ranks #6 nationally in passing first down rate. Defensively, Wartburg's pass defense has been playing well enough the last few weeks to completely counterbalance a relatively shakey start.

graphical stuff always easier to read, I like it.  My mind has gone soft, Y1P+?
61 consecutive seasons without a losing season
IIAC/ARC champs 39, 45, 46, 56, 64, 65, 66, 67, 74, 77, 78, 81, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 89, 90, 92, 94, 95, 98, 00, 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 09, 19, 21
NCAA Playoffs 74, 77, 78, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92, 94, 95, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 09, 19, 21
Stagg Bowls 74, 84, 89
National Champs 1974

Yeah, I guess I forgot to explain that. Y1P+ is the combined rating of the three stats (Yards/play, 1st down rate, and Points/drive)

Here's the rest of the IIAC. Let me know if there's anything that looks peculiar for any given team, such as Central's Rushing D stats. They are really good at preventing big plays (yards/play), but teams convert a lot of first downs against them on the ground. Do the Dutch faithful think that's accurate?

Great win, Knights. Nice to hang a shutout on the blue team.
