When does Clarke start football?

Last I heard it was scrimmage play in 2018 and varsity football in 2019.

The plan was to play games at Dubuque Senior High School.  Putting money into an on-campus practice field.
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Can Gray Shirts scrimmage?

Quote from: Ottumwa Courier
"Ottumwa quarterback Addison Coram has signed his National Letter of Intent to play football and attend college at Clarke University in Dubuque...Clarke's Board of Trustees voted in January 2015 to add football to the institution's intercollegiate lineup. Clarke will offer a scrimmage schedule in the fall of 2018 and will start varsity competition in fall 2019."

From the article...

Before this week it was a presumption. Now it's official: University of Dubuque grad Michael Joseph has been invited to the NFL Combine.

"It's pretty crazy. The Combine is something I've been watching since I was a little kid," Joseph said during a phone interview with the Telegraph Herald on Saturday. The Combine takes place Feb. 27 through March 5 in Indianapolis. "It's something that me and my family are really excited about. It's like a dream come true."

Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

If I may I'd like to take a moment from this drab January day to celebrate one Donald Kaul.  To this emerging adult of the disco crazed 70s and 80s there wasn't anything better then to read Kaul's take on  Nixon, Reagan, or Clinton.  I'm kinda a newspaper junkie, and anytime a columnist would take on the dreaded military-industrial complex I was all in.  And he had a great sense of humor.  Too bad he hasn't been able to skewer Mr. Trump, it would be worth hundreds of twitter rants.  Apparently at 83, the prostate cancer has taken its toll and it appears he is on his last trip 'round the sun. The father of RAGBRAI, we'll remember him well,  http://dmreg.co/2EBeyi7

Off topic but something worth noting.

Wartburg wrestling won it's 200th consecutive IIAC dual win last night against Luther 53-0. 200 straight in the toughest wrestling conference is amazing. (Wartburg is rated #2 in the nation, Loras is 5, Coe is 7 and Central is 9.)

The streak began on Dec. 1, 1994; against Luther with a 48-0 win.

Congrats to NWU for earning their 1st IIAC dual win. 39-15 over BVU.
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Wartburg wrestling is deserving of a lot more national attention than they receive.  200 consecutive dual wins in a conference is impressive, but doing it in the IIAC even more so.

So, it appears Central has managed to schedule 2 away games in the non-con again.  Is this something that has occurred at any other IIAC schools?  I can only assume Central either doesn't mind this setup, or they felt this was the only viable choice.  I can't imagine it being the former.
