IIAC twitter post hinted 'Dog(s)'

UWO Titan 78

When I played in the WIAC, the league was known as the WSUC (Wisconsin State University Conference). It was the WSUC from 1913-1997. I was against the name change at the time, but it made sense because men's and women's sports were played under different conference names (the women called it the Women's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference [WWIAC]). I also remember coaches always just referred to us as the "Wisconsin League" because our acronym was pronounced "We Suck" and who wants to say, "We won the 'We Suck'!" I've come to like the WIAC name, but I think it was imperative to keep the state name in there. If they had changed the league to the Dairyland Conference or something, I don't think I would've been happy with that. My son is considering going to an IIAC institution, so I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Take a page from the Prince playbook, and then add corporate sponsorship to the deal.

The "Conference formerly known as the Iowa Conference...presented by Casey's Pizza"  ;)

And hopefully that IIAC institution that UWO Titan 78's son is considering is UD  ;D

Look west young man. Since 2000, Nebraska Wesleyan has produced 110 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans which ranks 9th in the nation regardless of Division (NCAA I, II, and III and NAIA).
In football, the NWU program ranks 8th nationally.  ;D

I lived 12 of the first 14 years of my life in Webster Groves, MO.  The Webster University Gorlocks is a nice school.  They were one of the first schools to start learning centers at satellite locations. Their sports teams are scattered throughout the St. Louis metro area because they have virtually no athletic facilities on campus.  It was mid to late 80's before they started athletics.  I have nothing against Webster, I just wonder what that school brings to the table for the IIAC.  I get Nebraska Wesleyan as they close to the Iowa border.  St. Louis is not near the Iowa border.  Oh well, I'm a grumpy old man.

Officially the American Rivers Conference.

Well, we almost made it to a century as the IIAC.  Does the history stay intact?  Does everyone start over with 0 conference championships?

Funny how the MIAA added Trine from Indiana but kept the MIAA name.  The Big Ten has 14 members and kept their name.  University presidents were consulted.  Were fans?

My 2 cents is that NWU pushed this.  We have a conference commissioner from the east coast that agreed.  We have a bunch of college presidents hell bent on always being politically correct and not wanting to offend anyone.

Not official until the name changes on d3football.com

There might be a reference buried in Kickoff somewhere.  Time for an easter egg hunt!

There is! Basically the last thing said in Kickoff, if that helps.
