Just doesn't seem the same on the board without Warthog.

Just doesn't seem the same on the board without Warthog.

My daughter and I would meet warthog behind the home stands at halftime of the UD/Wartburg games in Waverly, I think dating back to 2010.  We plan to go again this year and stand against the fence by the light pole where we would meet up with him and think back to our conversations about football, the merits of cotton candy, and future college choices.  I believe we will feel his presence there.  He was a good guy!

Watching the UD coaches show today.  The UW-Whitewater series ends after a 2 year run and will be replaced by a series with UW-La Crosse next season.  The 6 year run of playing Pacific ends this year.  No news and who their replacement will be.

Just read that Central is dropping tuition by $20,000 next year and holding room and board at current price. Not a new idea, hope it works out for them.

What is Central's discount rate?
I don't know what the discount rate is these days. I am sure it is high enough that they can do this, but they say you can still get scholarships. I am sure that they are small by comparison to what they have been, but it doesn't leave much for running the college and paying employees. I know recruiting has been a battle for all Iowa schools, like I said, I hope it works out.

Our old friends at Upper Iowa are offering in-stadium beer sales this season.

Anyone see a future that would include ARC schools offering the same?

Do you know if any other DII colleges/universities allow that at their football games?

Mrs. Doolittle expresses her appreciation for the night games. Not only do I have time to mow the entire yard today, but there will be all sorts of other honey-do list items I can check off.

Change the kitty litter
Take out trash
Organize the garage
Change furnace filters
Agree with Mrs Doolittle we should paint the dining room walls
Agree with Mrs Doolittle it would be a bad idea for me to paint those walls and we should get quotes from professionals

I, for one, am very excited about the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi taking place at night. I hope there is a large turnout of alumni at this game. There is even rumor that Carey Bender and Freddie Jackson will be in attendance. Possibly Ricky Legree from the Cornell side.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Has Buena Vista historically been a bad football program? They remind me of Briar Cliff. Neither seem to win.
