Way to use that emotion from the way the first half ended Dutch! Central 31 to 14.

All this discussion places way too much emphasis on football ... In my view, the secret to success is good coaching, which attracts capable athletes, and some schools are better than others at this ... The new cross country coach at Wartburg, for example, won a string of conference championships at Aurora in track and cross country, and he didn't even have a track on campus.  He'd win wherever he coaches.

QuoteWartburg College won the ARC Men's Cross Country title today with 19 points. The Knights placed seven of their runners in the top-nine and 10 runners in the top-15.  Wartburg was led by individual champion Joe Freiburger who covered the 8K course in 26:47.6.

Congratulations Wartburg harriers

Congratulations Dutch! Nice game by the Dutch. Central probably could have scored much more, but they went to a work the clock offense really early. Central was successful in passing all day at will, but quit the passing after going up 45-14. Sadly they were not able to get the ball down for Alberts on the last TD and he missed his first extra point of the season. Keep it going Dutch!

Luther's defense is historically bad:

Apologies for being Debbie Downer

While the Luther D might end up with the the highest average points given up. The bright side is the conference will still show Dubuque at the top due to more total points given up during that 10 game conference season 😏

Central looked like a team that was hitting their stride in the second half against Simpson. I think they may have gone conservative a little too soon on offense just trying to grind out the clock against the Storm. Things were going so well why change what is working? I would rather see a team playing to win instead of playing not to lose. Saturday we will have to keep playing to win as Wartburg won't let us sit on a lead and hope it lasts.  Just ask all the teams that were leading Wartburg and lost this season. I think the Dutch can get that lead and pull out the long overdue win over Wartburg. The Dutch really responded well to the refs not getting the ball down for Central to get another score before the half. They played a complete game, played with confidence and made great adjustments when needed. If Central has a good mix of running and passing, mixing the passes left, right, and center and keep doing what is working the Dutch will win on Saturday.

This is why we play the game, I guess.  I'm not a betting person, but if I were I'd pass on this "opportunity."  I should add, Wartburg is almost certainly going to at least tie for the conference championship (again).

BVU had a marching band...Central has a bit more fun than their reputation around my part of the state, Dubuque and Loras well produced videos and note Loras Oct. 10th 2020 homecoming and Dubuque Oct. 24th 2020 homecoming...Simpson was short...Wartburg showed off their musical side of the school as well as football.

Coe, Luther, NWU missing-in-action as of now.

Yes, thanks Doolittledog!  I would never think to go search for these, and I watched them all.  All good, too.
