Former Dubuque coach, Vince Brautigam let go at Cornell.

4-5 this year and then 5-5, 4-6, 5-5, 5-5 over the past 5 years.

From the article... "We are grateful to Coach Brautigam for his efforts over the last 10 years and wish him the best in his future endeavors," Hackett said in the release. "My expectations are that we can and will do better. Our student-athletes and their experiences on and off the field at Cornell are my highest priorities at all times."

I guess I didn't think football was important enough at Cornell to let a coach go if he was turning in .500 seasons.  I hope the Cornell administration is willing to pump money into facilities and paying for coaches.  Significantly more wins aren't going to show up unless they change more than just the head coach.
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Wow! That is a real surprise, I would have thought those kinds of seasons would have been a huge improvement for Cornell. That is a shame.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow! The defense will need to step up big against a huge offensive line and make stops. The offense is going to have to use speed to get some quick strikes and balance it out with longer drives to give the defense a rest. No easy challenge ahead. Good luck Dutch, go out and show you belong in the playoffs and are a team to be reckoned with.  Go Dutch!

The D3Football experts have me pretty well bummed out since 5 of the 6 pick UWO tomorrow. Where I hope they are wrong is in predicting a relatively low scoring game.  I admit to knowing nothing about UWO but I will hope for a shoot out where Central has the ball last.  Go Dutch!

Agreed Central scores best when they do some quick strikes to build a lead, the problem is that leaves the defense on the field too much and our defense has not really stopped anyone from scoring consistently. They have some nice stands, but then let opponents make big gains. If the game is low scoring, our offense is probably struggling. At least UW-O does not tend to do a lot of passing. We need to work hard over the summer on defending the pass. I am thrilled to be back in the playoffs this year, but I think next year is going to be our year. Still happy to surprise a team of two this year.

Go Dutch! Take it to the Titans today!

As a loyal Spartan, I will be at the Hope-Wartburg game cheering on the Knights and the ARC/IIAC.  With orange-and-blue facing of against orange-and-black, I predict there will be no shortage of orange in Holland today.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

20-3 Wartburg with 6:58 left in the second quarter.

DIII students now allowed snacks!

Quote from: NCAA

"Notably, after opposing a comparable proposal last year, the Presidents Council, following a recommendation from the Division III Management Council, endorsed a proposal that would permit the provision of snacks and permissible nutritional supplements for student-athletes."

Another blocked punt for Wartburg.  41-3 with 10 to go.

Looks like the Warts screwed up in reverse by losing to Central...  ended up with a better draw.

Hindsight is 20-20 of course.

What a comeback by Central!

ARC looking pretty tough.  Hope they can take it in OT!
