In today's episode of Schipper Strong and DD talk to themselves, here is my portion.  :)

Can't make it to the game tomorrow as I work 7P to 7A. I will set my alarm to wake up for the game and cheer you on from home. Keep on setting those records out of sight! Set the bar for the teams that follow you. Luck helpful, skill rules! Go Dutch!

;D ;D ;D

I'll miss watching the majority of the UD game because Mrs. Doolittle bought us James Bond tickets for 11:45.  That's ok, though, we are also Bond fans and this way I won't get too worked up pregame hoping for a good outcome for my team!

Mrs. Doolittle obviously likes men of action!  8-)

I still haven't forgiven the high school guidance councilor who discouraged me from pursuing my chosen career of Secret Agent Man.

I was a bit of a Secret Agent Man F Rex, but nothing on the order of Bond, James Bond. 🕵🏻‍♂️ 😏
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

I'd ask what you mean by that but I'm afraid if you told me, you would have to kill me.

Games this weekend...

Neb Wes @ BVU  1pm
Wartburg @ Luther  1pm
Coe @ Loras  1pm
Simpson @ Dubuque  2pm

I have no idea who wins between NWU and BVU.  Guess I will go with the home team winning.

Wartburg will play their entire traveling roster at the Valley this weekend.  80+ points?

I have no idea who wins between Coe and Loras.  Traditionally I suppose you would think Coe get the win.

Simpson looked impressive getting their 1st win of the season over Luther.  But this Saturday is homecoming and I will be at Chalmers Field...so Dubuque for the win!

I'm beginning to lose faith in the fairness of D3football.com.  As I've commented before, I think JoJo McNair is one of the best anywhere.  I don't think there are many guys in the country who play both ways, catch 5 passes for over 100 yards and 2 TDs, have a 100 yard kickoff return for a TD, a 26 yard punt return, and force a fumble on defense in essentially one-half of a football game and don't make it on to the d3 team of the week.   I know, I know, he should have returned TWO kickoffs for touchdowns.  In short, who are these turkeys anyway?

Pat Coleman

Dang, man -- in our minds it is really tough to beat two punt returns for a touchdown, which is what the guy we chose did. We love JoJo McNair and the fact that he is on the field all the time, but he did not have a better day as a return man than A.J. Jackson did.

You want him as a position player of the week, but his accomplishments are over too many positions so he doesn't stand out for one position. Glad Central was able to make him irrelevant. That was a compliment, not meant as an insult. We changed our kickoffs to neutralize him because he earned the respect.

We are leaving in a few hours for Dubuque and the UD homecoming.  Not sure if I will have time to log in or not over the weekend.  Here's to a nice weekend weather wise, no major injuries, safe travels to everyone, and some good football games.

Hard to get excited for a bye week. I agree with DD, two games could go either way. Two games will go to Wartburg and UD. Simpson may have decided to let the dogs out last weekend, but let sleeping dogs lie tomorrow.

Schipper Strong

No Central game today, but thanks to the Mules defense against John Hopkins the Dutch might regain first place in a number of offensive stats for DIII.

Dubuque 41-28 over Simpson. UD once again playing with a freshman QB. Offense is scaled back and basic. Spartan defense with 5 INT's. Onto next week for the team. Onto the Dog House lounge for us!

I used the word "mauled" to describe Wartburg's win over Loras a week ago.  I don't know what could describe today's 67-0 win by Wartburg over Luther.  I'm sorry, I just don't understand how Luther football could have fallen so far.  Today, Luther had only 6 first downs and -1 net yards rushing.  How does a great college with a beautiful campus, fine facilities, a nationwide draw, solid resources and an outstanding tradition for athletic excellence put a football team on the field that is so ill-equipped to compete?  It saddens me, frankly.  I've been a donor to Luther for 40 years.  I watched Luther teams batter Wartburg teams in the "old days."  What happened?  Hey, I don't want Luther to beat Wartburg, but I sure want to see them field competitive teams.

Schipper Strong

I remember when Luther and UD were switched. Luther rarely beat Central, but always competitive. UD not competitive for years. Head coaching changes and Central no longer dominates every team they play in the post Schipper era. This year reminds me so much of those teams in dominance, but we were run and defense oriented back then. UD started the change with Canfield, enough to entice Zweifel. They are always in the mix now. Luther coaching changes have not brought them a winner. Maybe the pay isn't there, maybe they just aren't attracting Central grads.  ;D ;D ;D

Hate to admit it DD, but I tried to get under Simpson's skin again this week. It almost worked!  :) :) :)
