Keep on keeping on Dutch! Keep the focus! It would be easy to blink but keep your eye on the prize. Undefeated seasons don't come along as often as they used to for the Dutch. You have the opportunity to get us back to what used to be real familiar territory. Go Dutch!

The double edged sword of an undefeated run.  Exciting as the wins pile up. The sense of dread that this could all come to a crashing halt.
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

I think they will accomplish the undefeated season. The challenge before this team is proving they can play with the top 5-10 and being ready to play full games. These 5th year players came back for what lies ahead. It is a special team and having to wait an extra year to get the season they wanted so badly should inspire them.

Luther may be winless, but they did something none of the other teams have done this year. Hawkins throws his first interception for a pick 6. Props to Luther. Central up 24-7 at end of first.

Almost halftime Central up 45-7. 6 TD passes to 6 different Central receivers. Hawkins even threw one TD pass to Luther.  ;D

Congratulations to Luther for bringing in a high school marching band to put on a really good half-time show.  I was stirred.

BVU scored with 20 seconds left to win the game 24-20.  Wartburg's defense played pretty well, but...  Two losses in the conference; not a good feeling.  Oh, and while I appreciate the effort to put a marching band on the field (14 players, a drum major and four flag wavers), they really sounded bad.  Ouch, I know that's impolite, but for goodness sakes!  Glad their football team is getting better.

Congratulations to the Central Dutch! Win it outright next week! Very nice to see Ketchum playing today and showing he is ready to step up to huge shoes to fill next year. Glad to see us keep playing today. Not to run up the score, but to get some valuable experience.

Oh, by the way, Wartburg really missed JoJo McNair at BVU.  He would have been the best player on the field...

I have a lot of respect for Jojo McNair, but not sure you can say he would have been the best player on the field. I would guess that honor goes to someone from the team that beat you. That is really disrespectful to BV. Maybe Jojo wasn't there, but teams can do things to neutralize him. I looked at the stats against Central he had one pass reception for 0 yards, no punt returns and 2 kick returns for 41 yards. Defensively he had a whopping 2 tackles. I get you are disappointed in the season, but we have a good player watching the games from a wheelchair due to an injury against Wartburg. If you want to whine about something, there are more important things than the outcome of the game or who played in it.

It looks like BV will be a good opponent for a season finale. Hope the wind coming off the lake is unseasonably warm! Congratulations on your win. It looks like things are turning up at BV.

Whine?  Oh come on.  Just commenting, as do you.

Actually it sounded a lot like excuse making.

Time for the Dutch to get payback for a game lost in 2019 to a team that was on that day, better prepared and the better team. Let's make sure there are a few passing routes they are not expecting this year. A good opportunity to wrap up the outright conference championship and trip to the playoffs at home. Go Dutch!

I mean, he is a pre-season AA and 2 time All West Region athlete, who plays both ways and is a standout on special teams. I think it's basically an assumption that he would have been the best player on the field. Doesn't mean Wart wins if he plays, but it's not insignificant. Who for BVU is better?

And noting that he only made 2 tackles (as a corner) is hardly a knock. An elite corner may have nothing in the stat-line, and all that this reveals is that the other team avoided throwing his way the entire game.

Fair points. I said I have a great deal of respect for Jojo. I just wouldn't have brought the subject up if it was me.
