D3 has put their projected brackets out, with all due respect to that other scoring machine in Storm Lake, I'm going to look ahead to playoffs.  These are usually very close to the real thing, we'll see come Sunday, so the D3 projection with conventional seeding applied:

at North Central  1      at Mount Union
Greenville           8     Washington & Lee

at DePauw           4     at Salisbury
UW-La Crosse      5     Ithaca

at Linfield           3       at Union
Redlands            6       Endicott

Rose-Hulman     7        Anna Maria
at Central          2       at Delaware Valley

at UMHB             1       at UW-Whitewater
Trinity (Texas)     8      Albion

at Birmingham-S.  4     at Wheaton
Huntingdon           5    Carnegie Mellon

at Muhlenberg       3    at Baldwin Wallace
Springfield            6     Lake Forest

Framingham St.    7     Aurora
at Cortland           2     at St. John's

I thhinnk this is a good spot for our Dutch, yes, its in the Defending champions bracket, but we wont have to worry about them until the quarters.  I know the committee may drop Central down to a three seed, but with another game to score 50 in a half they'll have to consider the consistent outstanding play of both the national scoring #1 or 2 Offense and a great defense.

That means two home games for the Dutch should they continue winning.  So Rose Hulman, the Engineers are in the HCAC, which is also the home to the Dutch from Hope College.  7-2 record 6-0 in conference, they probably stand up to what the Better ARC teams could do.    Then Linfield will come to town, saving us from  climbing on a plane to McMinnville.  My question then is how good is the NWC VS ARC?  Strength of schedule Linfield is OOWP .5112 and Central OOWP of .5205  Their non-conference opponents didn't help us much so that looks like a dead heat to me.   Will be a great game!  Next would be a trip to Naperville.

I'm looking at an extended season for the Dutch, Someone has to win the championship Why Not Coach McMartin and crew!!  #GoDutch

One more week of games before Old Dutch and the others get have their fun in the playoffs.  For this week, the 11/13/2021 games...

Central @ BVU  1pm
Coe @ NWU  1pm
Loras @ Dubuque  1pm
Wartburg @ Simpson  1pm

Wartburg travelled to Storm Lake and came away with a loss.  I think Central takes care of business.
Coe is a better team than NWU.  Kohawks make the long bus ride home with a win.
Loras is Loras this year.  UD having a blah year and sitting on 3 straight losses.  Spartans will be motivated for a 10th straight win in the series.
Wartburg plays disciplined and leaves Indianola with a win over the Storm.

I'm hoping for a Central win where everyone stays healthy and the Dutch enter the playoffs hungry for a deep run.

I would think a more important question would be how good is Linfield. My hunch is they are very good. I would think Linfield would be a favorite to beat Central, even on the road.  But I agree, it could be a great game!

SpartanHouse

Hoping we get AU at Central. Would like to see those two offenses go at it.

It's an interesting bracket, and I like a lot of the matchups. But there's still a lot of football to be played on Saturday. In particular, seeing what happens with BW v. JCU and the LL top 3 could shake some things up still.

Central @ BVU  1pm
Coe @ NWU  1pm
Loras @ Dubuque  1pm
Wartburg @ Simpson  1pm

Central and BVU should be a good game with two powerful offenses going at it. It will be cold and windy up by the lake and the better ground game might be a key. Central is still taking one game at a time and wants that undefeated season. Dutch win even if Hawkins doesn't get his normal 6 TD passes.

Coe with an easy win over NWU.

Loras and Dubuque in a key city battle. Not sure who will win and not picking a winner this time.

Wartburg goes out on a big win to close out the year.

Good luck to all the players who will be hanging up the pads for good after tomorrow. Thanks for four good years and last spring. How many traditional 4 th year seniors will come back next year?

Fannosaurus Rex

I hope the BV marching band performs at the game today.  And I hope anybody who is going to be outside in Storm Lake today has some warm woolen undies.

I hate to pick another fight with OTC, but the BV band is the best thing BV put on the field today. For as few members as they had they did a good job.

Dutch up 49-0. To be fair to BV Brandon Kyles left the game with a shoulder injury. I was hoping to see what would happen against another good QB. Hope his injury is not serious. I hate to see anyone get hurt.

Now that is a championship game! St Johns scores with 1 second left to win 29-28.

Dubuque kicks a FG with 2.7 seconds left to beat Loras 17-14.  That is the 10th straight win for the Spartans over the Duhawks.

Congratulations to Central on their perfect regular season filled with a ton of broken records. Thank you to all 15 of the 5th year seniors who knew how special this team could be. You all put your life on hold for this and you made it worth the effort. We, your fans, are grateful. I feel very confident that I do speak for all Dutch fans on that. I think you have another goal yet to go after. I have seen the best Central teams play over many years—over 25 without missing a single Central game. I have attended two of the three Stagg Bowls Central played in. You are worthy! Still one game at a time. Go get your dream guys.

Wow, that changed things immensely. Not going to try to understand Central @4 seed in Top no. 1 bracket.  I think there resume is far better than that, we'll wait and see what the professionals say.
