SStrong FWIW Wyatt Smith broke Elliott's 110 career TDs today.
Congratulations to Wyatt!

Congratulations to Blaine Hawkins for breaking the NCAA TD passes in a season record today. I suspect that was also part of why the Dutch tried so hard to add one more to the total at the end. Thank you to all the 5th year seniors and to any 4th year seniors that choose not to pursue the 5th year. It was fun watching you play. What a memorable season.

Very classy of Whitewater to take time and announce this impressive achievement over the PA system.

Congrats to BH...very impressive season.
So why the fury at trying to tack on one more?

I'm surprised you ask the question. Does an AA, Gagliardi finalist really want to "pad his stats" against the 2nd team? Wouldn't a Gagliardi finalist, given the type of criteria reviewed by the committee, want his own 2nd team teammates to get playing time when the game was so out of reach? That's why UWW fans booed. It's no different than keeping a star basketball player in the game to get the last two assists to complete the triple double, when the game has already been decided.

Ice Bear disagrees. Ice Bear says let's not fool ourselves here as Rub A Dub's second team is still just as good as a **** ton of first teams across the country in D3 football. One touchdown to hit such an elite record? Doing against UWW's ****ing Intramural ping pong team would even be impressive. For **** sake, Ice Bear is stoked the kid kept at it and the team supported his drive for that. Ice says let's not get to ****ing uppity here and lose perspective on the importance of goals/records for some who may not constantly eat cake at the top of the ****ing D3 football world. No way they should boo. Gavin Zimbelman, a finalist as well, threw 3 TD's against Wheaton's 2nd team D in the 4th quarter of a 63-13 blowout. Not a single Wheaton fan booed. Not one. You can't seriously believe a finalist is thinking about his backup at the end of his own playing career? And the coaches are making the decisions on this, not the players.

Blaine Hawkins is the best QB in Division 3. He played well yesterday despite the final stats. He marched the team down the field quickly and efficiently on the first drive. How many non WIAC teams did that? Hawkins was under constant pressure and the WW QB had all day. Yes your O/D lines were better. How do you think Meylor's stats would be if the script was flipped? Hawkins sat out several entire second halves against starters for our opponents, as I am sure Brett Elliot did before him. Those receivers getting out of bounds despite the WW defense doing everything they could to keep them in bounds shows the heart I and FR referred to. It meant a lot to them to try to make it possible. Emma is right a bunch of heartless bastages you and your booing fans are. I am forever Dutch and proud of it.

I know few on here care, (DoolittleDog probably does), but the NAIA has an All-Iowa final in Grand View vs Morningside. Would have liked to play this one at Harlan instead of way out in Durham, NC, but it is what it is.

Would also have liked to seen Central against either of these two. Iowa small-college ball is great!

Ice Bear, you might be being honest, but you are also being ridiculous. To read arrogance into booing in that instance is just too much. I am with the others in that I really could care less what Central did. But I also could care less that people boo'd.

So, let me ask you a hypothetical. Keep being honest.  When they called time out with a few seconds left and UW-W had the ball with fourth and one, would you have been fine with us going for it? Throwing deep? Somehow I think the Central fans would have (rightfully) had an issue with us going deep with a few seconds left. But I'm sure the senior Central DB's would have loved a chance to defend one last long. pass together.  After all, it's just about one last chance to play ball with your buddies, right?

And what's with all the sensitivity about booing?  Who cares? It's what fans do.

If I was Bullis I would have went for it on that fourth down with them falling that timeout. Would have thrown it into the endzone and try and score. Think Nick Saban did that once, if you want to stat pad and play games then we're going to try and score too. You know if UWW did that they'd have had a meltdown over it.

I wouldn't have cared what they did. That was up to them.

Booing is not what all fans do, just the arrogant ones. Guess they were too soft to sit in the cold a couple extra minutes.

Ice Bear appreciates your ****ing feedback...that's being honest. Ice Bear says if that potential deep pass you're referring to meant a record for the QB and or/team? Ice wouldn't have had a problem with it. Ice says you have every right to disagree with his perspective here. Ice doesn't necessarily have a problem with booing per say, Ice Bear just calls douche bags for booing in that particular situation.

Ice Bear says maybe next time (Ice will send this memo forward to the Cru in preparation for next week as a curtsy) if a team is down and out against the likes of the mighty Rub A Dub they'll just stop playing all together, bow, kneel, pay a tax, then dry hump every Dub player as a gesture of surrender and respect. Maybe UWW should have done that to ****ing Buffalo State during that embarrassing debacle a few years back?

Ice Bear says btw, that was a very impressive win over a very good Central team yesterday. Ice does believe this Rubba Dubba team is the real deal and may just come out on the very top this year. Absolutely solid on both sides of the ball and incredibly tough up front. Impressive to Ice as always. Ice hopes they take it to the Cru next week.

I heard plenty of booing and screaming from Central fans during the Wheaton game. Loud enough that you could hear it and actual phrases screamed at the refs. Big whoop. Fans are passionate and get caught up in the heat of the moment. The only issue here seems to be your self-righteousness that Central's program and fans are above such baseless activity. Well, ummm, they weren't last week against Wheaton.

Also, as someone who has called multiple people from multiple teams out on the boards this season, regarding what you've determined to be excuse making in defeat, give me break on the 'UWW was holding all day long'.  ::) It was physical domination.

I'm glad you brought this up BLynn. It looks like NWC had to settle for FG's when Morningside got TD's. But overall looked like a pretty great battle. Interesting to see how GV and Morningside finish up. I'd love to see a final game between NWC and Central personally. Both very good teams with great QB's and prolific passing attacks. The Dutch connection would make for a great storyline as well.

I love it. I was waiting for a comment to be made about the holding call. You realize Central scored on that drive anyway right? In fact, as a UWW fan, I wish #10 didn't hold and allowed Your QB score on that play because then whitewater would have gotten the ball back, with a good opportunity to increase the  lead going into the locker room.

Unfortunately, #10 did hold, which prolonged the scoring drive, allowing central to take more time off the clock and score with under a minute left in the half. Giving the ball back to UWW with 45 seconds left. Where as if holding didn't take place UWW would have gotten the ball back with over 4 minutes left.

And that was one of only two scoring drives our defense held BH to all game.

And of course BH was under constant pressure. The entire stadium knew he was just to be passing 95% of the time. It was easy to defend because there was no threat to run. Whitewater is balanced, there's a threat to run and pass....keeping the defense honest and guessing.

Lastly. Emma said nothing about the fans being  "heartless bastages". Sounds to me you're just upset your team lost and a few UWW  fans "booing" is a convenient target to take out your frustrations.

Ice thinks this is a good point hazzzz azzzz admittedly Ice has been known, at a time or two, to roll around like an infant in praise for his beloved Dutch or in anger at those powers battling his beloved Dutch. Ice agrees that this is most certainly a possibility of fans from anywhere/any team/etc. However, one also holds the right to call them out on it (as Ice has been rightfully called out in the past). Ice has witnessed many a games where the Union, prep school, elitist, sweater vest wearing, sweater tied over the shoulder wearing, loafers with no socks wearing Union faithful have acted like babies needing a pacifier and have rightfully been called out for it by one wearing a T-**** that reads, "I am a hypocrite." Ice thinks we've all been there lol...at least Ice has. More honesty.
