Blaine Hawkins is the best QB in Division 3. He played well yesterday despite the final stats. He marched the team down the field quickly and efficiently on the first drive. He had a fantastic run for a TD that was called back and don't say holding as UWW was holding all day long.

This is football. You could call holding on every play but only the egregious ones get flagged. You don't get to use that to invalidate an egregious hold.

We were behind by 6 pts at the half.
How many non WIAC teams did that? Hawkins was under constant pressure and the WW QB had all day. Yes your O/D lines were better. How do you think Meylor's stats would be if the script was flipped? Hawkins sat out several entire second halves against starters for our opponents, as I am sure Brett Elliot did before him. Those receivers getting out of bounds despite the WW defense doing everything they could to keep them in bounds shows the heart I and FR referred to. It meant a lot to them to try to make it possible. Emma is right a bunch of heartless bastages you and your booing fans are. I am forever Dutch and proud of it.

He is a very good quarterback and had a great season.  In looking at the play-by-play for the Central games this year he sat out the whole second half twice (Kalamazoo, 45-6 at halftime, 69-13 final and Simpson, 56-3 at halftime, 84-16 final), played into the third quarter in three others (Coe, Loras & Luther) and into the fourth quarter for the rest (Saint Olaf, Nebraska Wesleyan, Wartburg, Dubuque, Buena Vista, Bethel & Wheaton).  I would say if the coach would have called timeout so that he would could be honored by the fans for a great season there might not have been many boos.

Congratulations to Coach McMartin for being named Region 5 COY by the AFCA!

Actually the only thing I was trying to say was it was a fantastic run by Hawkins to which I figured someone would say because of a hold.

Thank you again to the Central Dutch for a fall to remember. You will always be number one with me. It was wonderful to see so many former Central players show up to support the Dutch. Really loved seeing players from Central's national championship team at the game. Congratulations Coach Mac on regional Coach of the year!

Never too early to think about taking the next step! Hawkins and 5 th year crew will be gone next year. Use the time you have left this semester to get final lessons. I see great things ahead with Ketchum at QB, Mont back on the field will be a terrific target. Walk and Treimer running. Lots of huge shoes to fill on both offense and defense, but the cupboard is far from bare.

Congratulations to Blaine Hawkins as D3 offensive POY for region 5 and for being named a Gagliardi Finalist. Congratulations also to Dallas McRae of Wheaton for defensive POY in Region 5. Seems so fitting you would both be recognized as you seemed joined at the hip just two weeks ago.  :D You are both deserving.

I think BH is the odds on favorite to win the Gagliardi trophy. He'd be a very worthy winner.

USee

I agree with that. He has my vote.

Schipper Strong

Thanks guys. He obviously has my vote.

Very belated Attaboy to Brody Klein for the great start he gave Central last week with the blocked punt for a TD. It felt like the start of something great. This was still the best Central team I have seen. Too bad the others got better too.

Sorry, I can't let it go.  UMHB is in the Stagg Bowl, but I've not forgotten the rules violations by this team and its coach, Pete Fredenburg a few years ago.  I've been around long enough to think cheaters don't change their stripes.  Providing a car to a star player for several months and then saying one didn't think it was a rules violation?  Cheater!  Fredenburg would have been fired most places and for legitimate reason.  (I don't root for Baylor either.)  Go North Central!

Schipper Strong

I don't necessarily want the new impossible to beat team to be from our region, but am very tired of purple power. Red sounds good to me. Was hoping for an all red all Central Stagg Bowl. I didn't know about the UMHB vehicle issue, but tend to agree cheaters don't change. Go North Central!

You suggest there are multiple violations, but were there? Or was there just one?

I was hoping for a Linfield  vs Central rematch! At the CATDOME!

Great season you guys.... you were a top 10 team all year and beyond!
