Too bad about the Loras loss.  It is interesting that St. Ambrose thinks that they are clearly better than the Iowa Conference yet they have been pretty lucky to beat Loras over the last two years.

No doubt about the Loras game. All I could think about was that post from last week and how "NAIA is SOOO much better." I can't sit here and say that they aren't very good, because they are, but Ambrose's 2 victories by a combined 3 points the last two years isn't exactly what I would call dominant.

I did notice BV had 2 guys with over 100 receiving yards the first weekend. That is very impressive. Those type of big play receivers allowed the Beavers to come back and beat Loras last year, after Loras had built a 21-3 early lead. Should be a good game. Nice wins for Wartburg, Coe, Central. Good luck to all this week.

Loerbec, same old same old for Loras was in response to another narrow defeat to St. Ambrose.  New year, same result.

No, I did not see the game.

Any Kohawks out there know the situation with Suckow and Northern in the backfield?

coocooforcoekohawk

Suckow is the half back and Northern is the fullback.  They are both in the game at the same time. Both of them are a great talent.  Suckow will get his hands on the ball plenty.  Northern just got the big plays last weekend.  Not enough footballs to go around scenario.  Tekippe is a good QB so they pass as much as they run.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

any ideas how luther and dubuque will match up I realize not to many of you have any respect for dubuque but tell me what u think

Floyd in Iowa City

I think people are wondering about Suckow just because he has hardly carried the ball so far this year.  He currently has carried the ball 8 times for 8 yards in two games.

I only have seen Coe play twice in the last three years, but both times I saw them in person they have used a ton of one-back sets.

Maybe they are both in the game at the same time, but so far Suckow has been more involved as a PR/KR and as a receiver than what he has done at RB.

Whatever they are doing, they are off to a good start again this season.

You know Pakk I think that its not the same old same old Loras team.  If was the same old Loras team then they would have been up by 20 and let the lead dribble down their leg!!!! I response to the NAIA question don't even get excited about it.  NAIA is nothing more that DIII kids that are stupid enough to believe that $500 of "Football Scholarship" means they are getting money to play football.  Also, St. Ambrose will probably finish in the top 25 in the nation for NAIA and if that's all they can muster against an average DIII team then we should start having competitions at the end of the season of DIII teams not in the playoffs and NAIA's not in the playoffs.  Sort of like what the NSIC and WIAC did back in the day.  In speaking for the DIII's across the land,  PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!

UD/Luther could be fun to watch I think.  UD is one of the fastest teams year in and year out and Luther has Sherden who is many peoples picks as MVP.  If UD can get some big plays who knows.

Freebird how can you say that Central did not deserve to win.  Bethel made mistakes at crucial times in the game.  Mistakes are they luck maybe but then luck is part of the game and mistakes are too.  Bethel did not threaten to score in the second half until the last drive.  True central did not have any drives other than the first one of the game.  But all the yards that Bethel put in the stat book are meaningless without putting points on the board aren't they.  I think Bethel is a good team and I hope they have a great rest of the year.  That #7 is a great linebacker and Porta is a horse.  But you have to score to win.  The Dutch found ways to score and thats why they won.  Good Luck the rest of the season.

There aren't many times when I agree with a Dutch fan....but here I go (and it's always fun to get under the skin of MIAC fans). Who cares what the final total offensive stats are...all I care about is the final score. IIAC-3  MIAC-2. Looks like we won. Who cares if we "deserved" it!

coocooforcoekohawk

I believe Coe is using a "spread" offense.  They are definately not using a one back set.  There is too much talent at back to use just one.  Northern is a junior and Suckow is a sophpomore.  Coe may be good for a couple of years.  I listened to the whole game and Coe seems to be the real deal this year, of course nothing matters if they don't beat Central and Wartburg this year.

Dutchfan,

I agree bethel made mistakes and lost the game because of it.  I don't think I said Central didn't deserve to win.  I guess the post could have come across that way or maybe I did say that and can't find it.  Really it's just a tough lose when you out gain the other team 2-1.  So I'm sorry, I don't mean to take away from your win.  Your team played better when it counted.  Best of luck this season.

stormchaser,

where were you after BU stomped BV?  I guess you just chime in after a win.  If you really want to look at MIAC v. IIAC how about the MIACs 17-8 playoff record vs IIAC's 6-9.

No hate meant for the IIAC, your teams played very well this weekend

Live from Chi-Town... U see the name.
Az expected there was a lot of luv from tha people after reading my post. Thank U, I really appericated that very much. But just as I thought, there were some haters. So to the haters a big F#@k U! (i.e Dutchfan1) Henceforth, it would be so totally awesum if u would never respond to any of my posts or messages please.
Now back to what's important, the Spartans doin tha damn thang smashing Blackburn College as I said 49-6 (my predcition was 49-16) I guess I gave BB 2 much credit or not enough credit to Mr. Jay Davis Def. Coord.(Great Job coach!) (38) total yards for BB. Damn, it doesn't get better than that. But this day belonged to the offense. Jamar Jackson the most dangerous QB in the IIAC (better than Cris Lovley) threw for 5TDs and ran for 2. Impressive by any QB on any level. Amen? And catching was the best reciever in the IIAC SR. 6ft 2in 185lbs 4.54 40yrd dash Daunta Peterson 12rec 191yds 2tds IIAC player of the week!( any arguments state your case.) Oh, don't double him because soph. Torrey (prettyboy) Smith 9rec 127yds. Great Job everyone!
Now the focous is 2 Luther, who I think has the best stadium in the IIAC, but sorry the game will be played at UD. ( Tha House on Hanuted HIll) this one will be great to watch. UD  at home 20-16  UD misses a FG but blocks 2. Speacial Teams! Speacial Teams! Speacial Teams!
Practice hard IIAC confrence play begins NOW!!!
