I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Conrats Norsemen
Nothing better than waking up on a sunday and seeing a victory over the knights.  Norsemen 8 I didn't wear #16 just like you didn't wear #90. Where are you at these days? Man in blac how are you liking the great state of montana?

Congrats to all the winners this week in the iiac. No upsets though
except for the luther game.

Luther's website said Sherdan had 41 carries for 203 yards (while Luther as a team had only 280 total yards).  I know there was some debate as to whether or not he would get 100 on the Knights D, so I thought I would pass that along.

I said it a few weeks ago.  Same old Loras.  Great job Dutch.  I also said the winner of the Central/ Coe game would be conference champs.  It is looking that way as of right now.  My guess is wartburg did not have enough tape on luther.  Congratulations Norse.

Pakk- I wouldn't go so far as saying same old Loras. I would just say a very young and injury plagued offensive team and a strong defense. They are struggling right now, but looking at the number of freshman playing, they should be struggling. I just don't like the reference "Same old Loras" mainly because I know it is not the case. Just my opinion.

Central may be scary in a few years when McMartin gets several years of his recruits in there. I think it may be similiar to Luther right now. I also think in few years Loras may also be in that same position.

Just got back from Decorah-Nothing like the drive from the far northeast back to Des Moines to calm a guy down. Good thing the Hardware store in Lawler was closed, I was thinking about getting rope after the game.
Wing T- You must have been listening to the wrong station, we never get excited about anything the Knights do ;) There wasn't much to get excited about today. If you thought I was screaming you should listen in when the Knights are doing well.
A couple impartial (yeah right) observations from the game today:
1. Wartburg needs to value the football more. 6 turnovers leading to 24 points that I could think of. 3 giveaways on simple fumbled handoffs. I've come to expect a few ints thrown every week, but fumbling handoffs? 17 of Luthers first half points came on drives that started inside the Wartburg 15.
2. Luther took advantage of those mistakes. The Wartburg Defense has been great in the past dealing with "sudden changes", not today. The Norse took advantage of the turnovers like I do an all-u-can-eat buffet.
3. Sherden The Real Deal? Thats tough. The Knights did a great job keeping him in check all day and 47 yards came on his last carry(The move he put on our safety was sick) 41 carries is a lot, but if he can handle it why not? He's not Freddy Jackson material and looked to be hitting the holes pretty gingerly today. Possibly field conditions?
4. The Wartburg offense is too inconsistent.
8 yards on first down
lose 3 on second
incomplete pass on 3rd
punt.
Luther had some well-timed blitzes today that led to 2 of the picks, the other was a great play by the d-back at about the Wartburg 13.
1st and goal from the 5 and no points sounds like something we used to do to other teams, not the other way around.
5. With all those mistakes. we still had a chance. 5 minutes left driving inside the 30 and down by 8 and throw another pick. There's talent there, but plays need to be made
6. maybe we need to hire Teslow back. missed 2 PATs and a 22 yard FG. 5 points in a game like this makes a huge difference.
7. Give Luther a ton of credit after getting down early 12-3, its easy to fold when the streak has gone on as long as is has (did, ow, painful to say) Sorry don't mean to sound like a hawkeye fan by bringing up the streak.
Hefty has had quite the turnaround going up there.
Wartburg has been in this situation before, but I really don't think 2 conference losses will cut it this year.
Here's to making plays the rest of the year and a fun night in Decorah.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

To all Luther fans:(and everyone else who is anti-Wartburg)

congrats on your 1st super bowl win today... and you're right, eventually streaks come to an end, especially when it's 13...
I'm sure this is the biggest win for luther in 15-20 years?

To be honest, after looking at the boxscores, I'm a little surprised Luther didn't bury WB being @ +4 in turnover margin...  usually those scores are real ugly..

I'm sure today is  the start to Luther's new dynasty and they'll win the next 3 or 4 conference championships....

After hearing about the Wartburg game, watching Iowa play and waking up sick, I'm pretty sure my day couldn't get any worse...

p.s.
Walston's post hit before I finished typing mine, didn't want anyone to think I wasn't original with my comments...

Ah yes,  Cody Teslow was kicking for WB today, it's always nice when you have to hold your breath to watch a damn kicker attempt an extra point...Unreal

I can't even begin to fathom how frustrated Willis is tonight.

sounds like sherdan defintely got his money worth today with 41 carries...
but he got his 100 yds so i was wrong... good work him...

norseguy8 & buzzsaw:

I'm not exactly sure why you would be expecting any excuses out of the Wartburg Knight fans.  Our team went up to Decorah and played a good Luther team and got beat.

Wartburg had a ton of turnovers that were in some cases caused by excellent Luther plays or in some cases by sloppy Wartburg plays.  I makes no difference what the reason was for the turnovers.  The result was the Knights got their collective asses handed to them on a plate.  We lost, but we live to fight another day.

Congrats to Luther.

Party on gang.

Hmm, imagine that, our good friend and loyal D3football.com superstar Dave Devine cant admit defeat without some sort of sarcastic jargon. I guess some things never change. But then again, safety's, even if they are 30 years old, are the best athletes on the field. I bet if you would have been playing today, you would have listened to Willis' detailed game plan and crushed the entire team with your iron fist. Pathetic.
