I don't think anyone has expressed a concern that the sky is falling just north of Joe's KnightHawk.  It is possible that this year won't be quite what we have come to expect.  Maybe the Knights will be 7-3 or even 6-4.  Even though some teams look forward to having a seven win season, Wartburg isn't one of them.  The Knights haven't experienced a 7 or less win season since some time in the last century  Some teams, we think of as being top teams, have experienced 7 or less win seasons during that time.  That list includes the likes of St. John's, Augustana, Occidental, Ithica,Wittenberg, Linfield and Brockport State.  The sky didn't fall at these places.  I doubt if it is falling at Wartburg.

I heard the injury bug was back at loras again.  I head you lost both of your inside LB's in Buesing & Hall for atleast a week, and heard you lost one of you starting DT's.  Thats gotta be tuff, sounds like you guys have had one of the stronger defenses in the league so far.

The Show

BV looked pretty good this past weekend against a struggling Cornell team.  Usually Cornell is able to play BV tough, but the score (33-13) was a lot closer than the game actually was.

The running game was racking up the yards and it could've been considered cheating throwing it up for Schmidt in the corner of the end zone against their corners.

Props to my little bro for scoring his first collegiate touchdown!  ;D He looked pretty good running behind Crook and the pulling guards.  He's a quick little ****!

BV's defense is young, but they fly around to the ball.  Larry will have them ready, he called a great game against Wartburg last year and I look for more of the same this week.

Good question, Ram-this! And welcome back to the board. You've been gone much too long.

CooCoo, I have a gambling problem and I need your help.  I'll bet you a beer at the HomePort that you don't show up to help me.  I'm going to try and make the Coe/Luther game.  I'll have my mortgage riding on the game, but I know this game will get me back on track.

What is up with the quarterbacks in the IIAC this year?  Are any of them worth a damn?  It looked like Luther's qb threw three picks on Saturday, and Coe is rotating three different guys.  Like John Madden says, if you have two or three quarterbacks, you really don't have any.

Money talks and bull$hit walks.

                                   Did U guys Miss Me???
                                 So what, I don't care!!!
Back 2 U live from Chi-Town, the big city were I am makin moves, money, and mischief doin it how the doers do it, getting it how the getters get it. Whats the deal I leave 4 two weeks, come back and Luther is the best team in the IIAC. Good job on you win aganist WB I guess beating my spartans wasn't a fluke. (lol) Fight to win the conf. we need some new blood in the playoffs to keep the confrence fresh. I hate to say it but I knew the spartans wouldn't beat Simpson who has been the toughest team 2 face on Saturdays since my freshman year with Coach Mike Murray in 2000. (Funny what U get tricked into) But F all that, I have a beef with these people on here talking sh*t hiding behind these computer screens. I not used to that, but I guess thats how you small town farm boyz and girls do things. Talking about people via computer u think you will never see. Don't make me come to a game I don't want to see looking 4 U, cause I will. U 2 Spurrier since U think U R my judge and/or Business Law Prof. I came here 2 support my spartans and their road to get respect in the IIAC, and u guys R here on bull****! Now keep it in the IIAC, or take it somewhere you don't want it to go!!!
Since my Spartans have a much needed bye week, I will personally be in Dubuque 4 homecoming on Oct. 7th for the game aganist WB. Can we make it 2 homecomings in a row?  Holla atcha Boy! Lets go Spartans win some games, u makin it hard out here 4 a pimp. 2 early 4 a prediction. Holla Back! Ty Greze, Out.
                                      Now Back 2 football!!!!

Dowjone$,
I'm guessing you weren't an English major at Dubuque. If you were, it doesn't say much for their program.

War Pig,
I'll be down at Mahoney's during halftime.  The Homeport gets too crowded on homecoming.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Warpig I don't think that there are any problems with the IIAC QB's.  They don't throw for 500 yards a game but they do get the job done.  What is the measure you are going by.  The Dubuque QB has all sorts or yards but isn't winning.  I don't really know what you are looking for.  I think in this conference the DEFENSES have been pretty good with the exception of Cornell.

Wartburg could still be in the running for its fourth straight conference title.  If Wartburg and Coe both win this weekend Wartburg is still right in the hunt for a title.  If that happens this weekend look for a fired up Knights team on Oct. 15.

All that the loss to Luther did was let these young Knights know that they need to show up every week.

Underhills - I hope I see you posting more often I used to really enjoy reading your posts.

Go Knights

DutchFan2004

WartTrainer I agree with you that the Knights are still in the hunt.  If you only have one loss in the IIAC you are in contention.  But I think that Central and Wartburg are in the same boat.  They both have to take care of business.  If Both teams win out I think that there will be a huge log jam at the top.  How do they figure the automatic bid to the playoffs then. Because Coe will have lost to Wartburg.  Luther will have lost to Central then the Wartburg Central game becomes the championship game correct?

If "if's" and "but's" were candy and nuts,  we'd all have a merry christmas.

Lance Harbor

Dow Jone$ - Love it.  Keep posting.

Wart Trainer - Totally agreed.  From here on out, there are no automatic L's (or W's) on the schedule.  We're in it just as much as any other team out there, although the winner of the Coe/Luther game will be in the driver's seat.

The Show

Don't forget Lance, there is another team that is still undefeated in conference play...
