I was hoping to get some rivalry blood stirred up for the Central Simpson game.  Considering the series record is 53-26-3 in Central's favor, I guess I can understand why there isn't much interest on the other side.

Central's young offense has been underwhelming so far this season.  But, now that they have had some games to get their timing down, they should be able to score just enough to win.  I make it Central 16 Simpson 14.  Central's scoring will be a touchdown and 3 field goals.

Warthog -- drop me an email at the address I have on file. Mrs. Coco sent a couple of pictures from the Wartburg/Augsburg game that I'll pass along to you.  :D

Predictions and thoughts from Tokyo:
Wartburg takes out their frustrations on a decent BV team
Loras gets out of their offensive slump and puts a whopping 14 points on the board which is enough to beat the rams
Central has an up and down game but their special teams come through again.
Finally, the Kohawks Like Norseman said but a ton of guys in the box, sheridan only averages 4.5 a carry, but Rolland throws for 3 scores to Pearson and sheetz to win the game by a field goal off the golden leg of kyle W.
Realize these predictions are solely based on everyone elses opinion and the stats I read on the net.
Have a great week of football IIAC. Go norse

Coe breaks into AFCA top 25

Don't get too excited Kohawks.  Won't mean anything if we lose this weekend.

Centerncoach is Matt Reyhons and he is hiding behind another guy that used to play for Luther....me.  He is a loud mouthed, arrogant rumor spreader.

I haven't seen Sherden lately, but I didn't think there was any reason for his ankel to be swollen.

I thought you had to be registered to post on here?

dbljay21

I talked to one of the coaches at Luther today...the Norse are healthy, even Sherden.

Centerncoach...Mr. Reyhons, do all of us a favor and shut up.  You don't need to spread bogus rumors about injuries to try and gain an advantage on Saturdays...the games will be won on the field.  You are giving the Norse a bad name.
Go Norse!!!

If you look at my last post I included Coe in the five or six teams that are still in the running.  I think that Coe is a good team.  I think that the D is their strong point (or at least it was when they played the Dutch).  If the Coe O doesn't produce more from what has been posted and the stats I have seen I think that Coe could have two losses.  I have repeatedly stated that the champ will not go undefeated and I'm not sure that the champ may not have two losses from how evenly the conference has turned out to be. Having said that I could be totally wrong but thats my gut feeling as of now.  I think Wartburg, Coe, Lora, and Central will win this weekend.  I am picking Coe because of homefield and the added fire of Homecoming.  Good luck to all the IIAC teams

Wart Trainer,

90 pts?!?!  That would be like the Coe Cornell game a few years back.  What did the final end up for that one?  Wasn't it lie 63-60 or something like that?

War Pig

I think that Luther will have to use Sherden more in the passing game (screen passes, etc.) to have him put up some big yards.  I think the Coe defense is too stingy for Luther just to line up and blow them off the ball.  I look for Luther to use a lot of screen/draws and to pass a lot on first down.  Throwing the ball will be tough.  I think the Staker kid from Coe is one of the best shut down corners in DIII.

Offensively, I think Dutchfan2004 is right on about the Coe offense.  They need to score more points.  I don't think rotating three quarterbacks is the right thing to do at any level.

War Pig,
You are right about the screen/draw game.  When I coached for Luther, I evaluated the offense efficiency and one of the things that was apparent in our victories was our abilities to use the screen game.  When we were good at the screens, we had a successful day, if we struggled at screens, we weren't as successful.  I haven't seen any games yet this year, so I don't know how much emphasis is being put on the screen game this season.  With a back like Sherden, an active screen game is a dangerous weapon.
Go Norse!!!
