It is much easier to run the option in the mud than it is to run a spread offense.  Tekippe couldn't get his footing and a lot of passes ended up off the mark.  Many of those passes were intended for Suckow.  Now, I have not made an excuse as to why Coe lost, I am simply answering the question, "why didn't Suckow get more touches on offense."  Coe has many weapons that are all returning next year on offense.  I will let Coe's offense speak for itself next year.  What is funny is how you heard the Cobbers moan about the Oxy game in the Fargo dome and how that effected Concordia's chances to win that game.  However, this year the conditions had no effect according to Cobber nation cause both teams played in them.  Hypocrisy, I think so

I don't understand the Hypocrisy statement.  The whole Oxy inside the dome issue was over homefield advantage.  The muddy field sucks no matter how you look at it, but the whole arguement stems from what equates to a homefield.  My feelings are that the FargoDome no matter how close to Cobberville it is, it's not homefield.  I don't see how that thought is hypocritical.  If Concordia officials had moved the game indoors after the snow, rain and melt........that would've been hypocritical.

Concordia officials had no jurisdiction over this matter. It's the NCAA's event and it's their decision.

I understand that.......I was just trying to clarify my point about hypocrisy.

So moving the game to the Fargo dome enabled more fans from Occidental to make it to the game.  Thus, no home field advantage for the Cobbers?  You have got to be kidding.   So is it weather or location that creates the Cobbers home field advantage?

LOCATION

There has been no argument of it,  we wanted it at the JAKE, it is our home field.

Can we now put this topic to bed

Coocoo -- think about this: if you moved a Coe game to the UNI Dome, would it still be home field advantage? Yes, all of your fans could still get there, but the atmosphere in the Dome is very different from the atmosphere in Cedar Rapids. The Cobbers are talking about overall home field atmosphere.

Thank you Dutchfan1 for understanding my point, that is EXACTLY what I was saying :)

Well, apparently K. Ray bleachers are lacking in "atmosphere"  because it would not make a difference if Coe played at home or indoors except for the weather.  Thank you Dutchfan1, for using your IIAC education to express what these MIACer's were unable to expound.  However,  Cedar Falls is a lot further away from Coe than Moorhead is from Fargo, so if Coe played indoors in Cedar Rapids or, for arguments sake, Marion it would make no difference.  In fact, when I was a freshman and sophomore we played most of our home games off campus.  The problem is that these Cobbers not only don't know how to express themselves with the written word, they don't know how to debate effectively because their argument changes according to whom they are trying to persuade.  Take a position and stick with it.

Bravo Coocoo, Bravo.  Let's use the ever grown-up, "I'm smarter than you" line, very clever.

Listen, here is the deal. The Cobbers want home games at their HOME field, Okay?  Also, it doesn't matter where the alternate venue is, if it is not the team's ACTUAL HOME field there is some loss as far as home field advantage is concerned because the home team is no longer at their HOME field.

Can we now let this debate die?  You guys had a nice team, and played a hard game, you just came out on the short end of the scoreboard, I have no ill feelings towards Coe or the IIAC at all. The last two years Concordia has seen 2 very good teams, and is fortunate to get by them, and that is that.

Coocoo -- Look, buddy, your team lost, OK? Now, no matter how valid your arguments, no matter what their fans say, whatever, but continuing this conversation, you look like you have sour grapes. Nitpicking the field, the conditions, the town, the stripes, the tailgate, whatever is not going to change the outcome of the game now. Congratulate these guys, and be as classy in defeat as you can be in victory.

coocooforcoekohawk

I have no sour grapes and I am not nit picking.  I originally was trying to answer the question about why Suckow gets so few touches, an attack on the coaching staff.  The weather affected how many touches he got on Saturday.
The rest of my rants were to point out how the Cobbers complained and made excuses about where the game was played and how it affected their ability to beat Occidental, and then want to not allow that to be an excuse for other teams.  In my opinion neither argument holds water.  I just won't let the Cobbers go both ways.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Maroon&Gold

Will you tell me how I am going "both ways"??

I have continuously stated that I, along with most other Cobber faithful, would like Cobber HOME games to be played at our HOME stadium. That's all that has been said, so maybe it's your argument that is having the trouble with holding water.
