show -- I wish! Tampa would be a lot more fun than Des Moines this time of year. :)

Merry Christmas IIAC posters -- may you all have a happy, healthy, and profitable 2006!

Anyone else making the trip to either Houston or Tampa for ISU/Iowa?

no, but i am going to the cotton bowl for alabama vs texas tech.

coocooforcoekohawk

Does anyone know their schools non-conference schedule next year?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Now that Cornell has named Matt Dillon as head football coach, will Wartburg try to one-up them by hiring Tom Cruise?
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Walston Hoover

Interesting that Dillon's back in the state. Was he offered the job when it was open 4 or 5 years ago. Is Cornell going to run the wing-t?

Assuming there is a news conference today naming me head football coach at Wartburg, there will be drinks on me for everyone between now and January 1st at Joe's KnightHawk.

That may give Willis reason to hire you right away!

Man, Warty, that would almost be worth making the trip out there for!

Do you think I could drink a plane fare's worth?

You know that if the decision were mine, you would have been hired already, knowing that WH and Lance would be your assistants.

With Dillon being a Wing-T Guru I would imagine we will see wing-t out of cornell. He has the personnel. Smaller, "quicker" athletes.

I believe Dillon did apply for the job a few years back, but we all know what happened in that situation.

Am I assuming correctly that Wartburg will wait to make their announcement until next week when everyone is back on campus.... I know if I was playing I would want to be at the Press Conference.

Bisondad

Any rumors of who has interviewed for the Wartburg job?

The Show

Have fun in Dallas, tributetothemaninblack. Should be a good game as well.

I'm heading out for the warmer weather, average of 73 I'm hearing... :o

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, Go Hawks!

Obviously offensive coordinator Eric Koehler, Also 2 current head coaches, one from an up-and-coming school, and one from a proven power. Out of respect for their current situations I'll leave them nameless. I have no idea if their current players know they're out looking around.

Sacred Acre

Walston....I know who the coaches you mentioned are, as I used to have some insight into the program a year or so ago....Koehler or the coach from the proven power out east? What's your best guess?

Walston Hoover and Lance:

If Wartburg doesn't call fairly soon, I may have to apply for the Minnesota Vikings job.  Since I have been known to party, I may be better qualified for that job any way.
