Show- you're right, BV's website says total enrollment is 1,214. I guess I didn't realize the size. So the "below 300" number probably isn't that staggering for them. It certainly doesn't hurt that BV's endowment doubles most of the other IIAC schools.

qbdriver

Chaser,

Where do you find endowment information?  Where do the IIAC schools rank?

Thanks!

Walston Hoover

I've seen a website with those endowments before, but it might have been on a newspaper's website.
I'm waiting for the next installment of

This just in: two-time IIAC MVP Freddy Jackson is on his way to NFL Europe as a representative of the Buffalo Bills.

Here are the endowments according to Peterson's College Guide web site:

1.   BVU  $110 million
2.   Luther  $73 million
3.   Cornell $63 million
4.   Central  $62 million
5.   Simpson $58 million
6.   Coe  $56 million
7.   Wartburg $35 million
8.   Loras $23 million
9.   Dubuque  N/A

Stormchaser-
Do you know what year those #'s are from. I seem to remember 35 Mil being Wartburg's endowment 7 or 8 years ago, and they've raised somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 mil since then.

Without a doubt Charlie Kohawk is the bigger wig.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I believe Coe is using a "spread" offense.  They are definately not using a one back set.

CooCoo -- we're on the same team, but apparently not the same page. I think you ought to see a game in person before you report with any authority what kind of offense the Kohawks are using. After witnessing Coe's first two contests, I have no doubt Suckow will get his opportunities, but they may be limited out of the backfield.

Just wanted to remind Charlie what was said, and I would like to know why he would speak to an alumnus like that, especially when he was wrong?

coocoo,
You were right. I was wrong. And I'm sorry. Ok?

I might also ask for a public apology for some things you've said about me in this room, but I won't. I don't think anyone -- least of all me -- is interested in seeing this senseless feud continue. We both obviously care a great deal about Coe athletics. Can we bury the hatchet and concentrate our efforts on supporting the Kohawks?

How much, if any, will Coe's endowment go up with the Clark family donation? Will the athletic department see any of it??? As in a renovated stadium with FieldTurf and bigger stands?

Coe's endowment will increase significantly with the Clark estate, to the benefit of all areas of the college, including athletics but primarily academics. Don't expect Clark Field to become Waltson Hoover anytime soon, but FieldTurf seems like it's becoming more necessity than luxury.

Thanks Charlie,

That's all I needed.
Yes, I should have, and thought I did, apologize for using the word canned when talking about your employment.  I'm sure there are other things I should apologize for and I do.
On a serious note, I received my Courier yesterday and thought your article on the Staker family was magnificent.  I'm not ashamed to admit it moved me to tears.  You are obviously a great asset to the Coe community.
Just remember you don't have the market cornered on passion for Coe, and as an alumnus I am a bit jealous of your position, your place, and your friendships in the Coe community.  I want to serve my Kohawks and can't seem to find a place that I am needed or wanted in the Coe community.
I hope to meet you sometime at a Coe athletic event so we can bury the hatchet in person.

WH- that's the # Wartburg would have reported last year. I'm certainly no expert in the field of fundraising, but I think there's a significant difference between the endowment money and raising money for new buildings, etc. Wartburg probably raised that money to spend on the new facilities.

WH -- Wartburg's website lists the endowment as $37 million.

Wartburg's site also provides a financial comparison to other educational institutions, although the info is dated 2000.
