This may be a bit random but with a recent change in the coaching staff at BV it led me to think back to my high school days when Hadechek was head coach there. Does anyone know what he is doing these days?

Hadachek is making millions with advocare supplements.

"Klieman was on the right track, if any of you had/have seen some of those freshman running around last year, I am sure you would agree. I think Osterberger will continue in the right direction. He is an excellent recruiter as well. Things can only go up. "

What is with the Love affair with Kleiman.  He was 3-7 and best yet he bolted in March.  If that is the right track then we are in trouble.

Confused77

Lorasgrad- You never worked for the guy. I have nothing but respect for what he did in his time at Loras. As far as leaving in March goes, it doesn't bother me. Coaching is not a stable profession so a coach can leave anytime, obviously, May- August is bad. March doesn't bother me. It seems you never have made an attempt to support the program, because if you had, you would probably have met Klieman at some point over the last 4 years and might be able to base your opinion of him through personally meeting the guy.

I am pretty sure I am done talking about this whole thing. There is a new coach in town. Support the program or don't. Doesn't matter to me. I am tired of responding to your bitterness towards the program over something a football coach did not say.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Confused --- Back when you were cutting class, I assume as some other poster posted, at Wartburg, there were us who were visiting schools with Loras Coaches, filling out financial aide forms for student athletes, and promoting Loras not just to FB recruites but other sports including basketball, swimmers, volleyball players, baseball players, not because we got a check for it, as you obviously did, but because we wanted to give something back.   I earned my right to criticize.  Leaving in March is a BIG THING and not a plus on his resume.  He was 3-7 enough said.  I for one dont find a lost to Uof D a big thing as they have been hustling and you have to respect their hard work.

Confused77

Lorasgrad- My class attendence at Wartburg has nothing to do with this. My attendence at Joes Knighthawk.. that has a lot more to do with this.  ;D

Say what you want as you are entitled to your opinion.. honestly not all of your thoughts are bad. I just find that you have a lot of bitterness towards your alma mater.

I agree with Confused on this one -- rather than airing your frustrations on a football chat board, why don't you go to the AD, or better yet, the new coach -- someone who is in a position to DO something about the situation? Bashing your alma mater to a room full of IIAC posters doesn't seem to be helping your situation.

Confused -- Long live Joe's Knight Hawk! Will someone get this Central girl a beer already? :)

First round at the Knight Hawk after the Loras-Wartburg game is on me!

I gotta go with Confused on this one too.  As most people who know me would tell you, my feelings toward Loras would never be classified as a "love affair."  But I was very impressed with the job Klieman did there this year.  Yes, the team had a disappointing record and lost to UD, but given all the injuries Loras had to their best players (Burds, McCarron, etc), you'd be hard pressed to find a coach that could have won more games.  Fact is that Klieman developed an enthusiasm around Duhawk football that I really hadn't seen since the Shane Davis days*.  I think he could have had the Duhawks competing for the IIAC title in a couple years, and I wish Osterberger luck in trying to pick things up where Klieman left off.

*For those of you wondering how a Wartburg senior can rattle of the name of a former Loras running back, I grew up about 20 miles from Dubuqe and remember the name from reading the Dubuque paper.  I also remember seeing Matt Plummer, the all-IIAC WR from Dubuque play when I was in junior high, so there.

Okay, SportsKnight - Let's really test your DuHawk trivia knowledge......

WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP.......

Shane Davis was one of three very good backs to play at Loras at the same time during the 96 and 97 seasons.

Can you....

1)  Name the other two running backs?

2)  Give me the name of the collective group that these 3 were known as?

sportsknight

The answer to number 2 is "The Natural Born Thrillers."  That's all I can tell you.  I wasn't a scholar on the guys, but I do remember Davis' name being in the paper a lot.

One of the Loras backs was Ryan Lovins from Streator, IL.  Played against his in HS, he was a dude!
