Basically the same basic scheme Loras ran until Coach Bierie retired. Multiple I formation, I believe they had a rotation between the 3 with Davis getting the majority of the work load.

Fredrick Jackson had 147 total yards (39 on 16 rushes, 40 on 4 catches, and 68 on 3 punt returns including a 56-yard beauty) in Rhein Fire's first loss of the season, 35-31 to the Amsterdam Admirals. The teams, now tied for first place in NFL Europe, square off again next week. Kohawks are encouraged to join us at the Chrome Horse Saloon for the game at 7 p.m. Saturday.

In my personal opinion, I see Loras traveling a rough road here the next few years.  Last year the only thing going for them was their defense their offense was basically non-existent.  Looking back at your guys' roster I see you lost a lot of senior talent up front.  I also felt your D-backs struggled at times as they were very susceptible to the deep ball and weren't much for tacklers.  I know you guys have Hall at LB but I don't think he can carry the defense alone, he will need someone else to step up and help him out.

I heard through the grapevine you guys lost one of your QB's and are down to your second stringer from last year and a couple of freshmen.  In my personal opinion, I was VERY disappointed with your QB's from last year.  There just wasn't enough firepower on the offensive side of the ball.  Granted you guys had numerous key injuries, from what I've heard though that McCarron kid wasn't the savior like everyone thought he'd be.

Just my two cents...best of luck to everyone

Caught about 10 minutes of Freddy Jackson's latest NFLEuro game on the parents' dish over the weekend.  Looks like he's splitting time at tailback, so those numbers he's putting up are pretty good.  Did see him fair catch a punt at his own 5, which the announcers got all over his a$$ about.

WalstonHoover:

Yes, everything is OK here.  We had tornadoes in the area but the damage was southwest and northeast of us.    Little Warthog's apartment in Iowa City was untouched.

Thanks for asking.

Beaver Fans- What is the status of your Head Coach search? Any names surfacing? or a time frame for an announcement?

Longtooth

Confused, Congrats ahead of time for your 200th.

2003 Coe College graduate Fredrick Jackson had another productive game Saturday as starting running back for NFL Europe's Rhein Fire. Amsterdam topped the Fire for the second week in a row to take sole possession of first place. Rhein dropped to 4-2, despite a game-high 71 yards on 12 carries by Jackson. The two-time Iowa Conference MVP also caught one pass for four yards and returned two punts for nine yards.

Confused- I've asked the same questions - and no responses. I think Show has some eyes and ears around the program. Isn't his brother still a FB player at BV? Come on Show, give us the scoop!

Confused77

I can understand if Show is sworn to secrecy if he knows something. I know BV is in the middle of no where, but last my Grandma told me was that there are newspapers and cable tv in that area to go with all the windmills  ;D

I would hope BV gets the new guy hired soon.

sc_stormchaser

Believe it or not, I think Storm Lake still has two newspapers.

Before I write this please keep in mind I read it on a different message board...someone heard that a couple of former Simpson coordinators interviewed for the BV job. First one I thought of was Jeff Judge. He was at Simpson during the two conference champions of the late 90s and now the head coach at Anderson (IN). I heard he interviewed for the Cornell job, too. I played under him and he's a great guy. If it's true, BV should take a close look at him. The other I assume would be Derek Wharton, but I think he would be a long-shot. He was basically in the same situation as Anderson at BV. He thought he was next in line after Williams retired, but SC went a different direction. But as far as I know, he's been out of coaching since he left Simpson.

It seems to be taking a long time considering the time of the year. Is that good or bad for the Andersons?
