Walston Hoover

I only know one Cornell grad from the last few years, and if you were him you'd know me among other things from some O-line camps the last few years.

Ash Park

Nope, I can't say I personally know you Walston.

I think I do know who you are thinking of though.

It is not actual bullying or intimidating of which I am speaking; it is your attempts at doing such, which are tiresome. I doubt anyone would be intimidated in real life by a second-stringer.

I do recall a few years ago when your team had a rough start, there was nary a former knight on this message board. That is, until your team started winning again.

Instead of worrying about whether new posters from up and coming teams will stick out the bad, why don't you worry about your welcoming tone ("I welcome more people to the board," Walston Hoover, Reply #2379), because it needs work.

If I had to be at a game this week it would be Dubuque vs. Cornell; its outcome will tell us much.

To answer your question Ash Park, I am an IIAC fan. However, I just get sick of these second-stringers from Wartburg still trying to make the first team by posting on d3football post patterns. So, good luck to all in the IIAC. Keep on posting in a free world.

Does Simpson have a chance? I haven't seen them play this year, but I'm planning to be at the game on Saturday. SC hasn't beat Wartburg in eight straight years...that dates back to the final four years of the Jim Williams era. Judging be the stats, the defense hasn't stopped anyone and the offense can't run the ball...a deadly combination. But SC has had 2 games to, hopefully, iron out some issues. So we will see...

My picks - Coe, BV (they always give Central fits), Cornell, Simpson (yes, I know it's a stretch, but I drink the Storm Kool-Aid)

sc_stormchaser

I retract my statement about BV "always" giving Central fits...man, I must be getting old. I was thinking of one year in particular a few years back when BV beat Central in the conference opener. Most of the games have been laughers, so nevermind. But I will stick with my picks.

I am a Central fan and I would love to join in the discussion.  The problem is, I haven't seen or heard an IIAC game or know any one who has.  So I don't know anything but what I read on here and the Central site.  I will wait for the Simpson game to post my smack.  Smack is better if you have some actual facts, but I won't let that stop me.

The rough start you speak of was last year, and I was here the whole time. You can keep accusing me of being a second stringer all you want, but "YOU DON"T KNOW ME!"
I have never brought up my playing days, but there are plenty of people that can tell you about them.

One other thing, I don't think Ash Park or anyone else felt the slightest bit intimidated by my words typed in an INTERNET CHAT ROOM.
Were you the guy that always got picked on in elementary or what?

Walston,

What is happening here?

Has everyone taken a victims pill.  Somehow people want to see themselves as victims here.  Pay no attention just move on.  I always find you posts interesting.  Not always agreeing LOL but interesting.  Did you like the photo on the front page today.  Got his fathers genes I think LOL  ;D

I was a around for some of Walston Hoovers playing days and the only thing I can tell you about them is I used a whole lot of tape on that guy.

DutchFan2004

Wart Trainer,

Are you saying that Walston Hoover got broken alot LOL.  Was he a delicate person.  I am teasing here guys so don't mistake this for a slam.  Taping a player helps the player play full bore and all out.  Helps with the joints to protect them.  I am sure that he was a good player.  Central, Wartburg, Coe, Luther, Simpson, and BV all have had their share of good teams.  Not to mention Loras and Dubuque.  I am not slighting Cornell, but since I have been following the IIAC Cornell has not even been a threat.  They haven't been an easy "W" but they have been up and down  and never know what team will show up.  Sounds like Dillon has them playing well and together.  That will take them along way if they stay together and work on their game plan.

That's the world we live in Dutchfan, everyone's a victim. Didn't see the front page since I have my computer set to come straight here.
I think what my trainer was trying to say is that he had to use a lot of tape because most of my limbs are "thicker" than the average man's.
Fortunately I never had to worry about a single injury (MS, HS, College) until my senior year at Wartburg. Then they hit me pretty good. Sprained ankle, MCL, thumb, and elbow problems.

You obviously don't know as much as you think you do.  WH was not only a multi-year starter for Wartburg, he was a part of a unit that put up a pretty good streak of not allowing a sack.  He won an IIAC championship and played in the NCAA playoffs.  I don't know you, so I'm not going to assume anything about your playing career, but I would suggest that you inform yourself before you call someone a "second-stringer."

I also remember a couple of instances where Wartburg had some bad games and I can tell you that there were many Wartburg fans around here.  Our posts may not have been as sunny as other times, but we were still here.  WH, Warthog, myself, Lance Harbor, and Dave Devine represented our school well both in victory and in defeat.

I, for one, enjoy the fact that so many IIAC viewpoints are represented here.  I've also enjoyed that we've usually been able to keep a civil tone around here.  All opinions are welcome, but when the only opinion someone offers is to attack someone else, I think it goes without saying that person will not be taken very seriously.
