Spartan111

Throwin' in my picks for the week:

BV vs. Cornell - I'm going to go with BV here, this one could go either way IMO (17-10)

UD vs. Luther - Luther's power game scares me, but I think UD has to many weapons!  (30-20)

Loras vs. Coe - I don't think that Loras 'd' has what it takes, plus I hear Hall is out for the game.  Coe 28 - 10

Wartbug vs. Central - My game of the week! obviously! I'm goin' with Central 24-14, bye week prooves beneficial for the Dutch!

Good luck to everyone this week!!
Last week was a rough one being a Spartan fan!  Loras has tremendous team speed on 'D'.  I was surprised!  I think Hall might be the fastest LB in the whole conference, quite the athlete!  As for next week, I think our team team speed will come in quite useful against a solid Luther team!

GO SPARTANS!

Walston,

What kind of odds are you giving on the shut out?

Not very good ones, lets just say I hope I'm not reading about Central's qb on the front page of d3football.com saturday afternoon  ;D

QuoteI know Cornell sits along the Lincoln Highway but I'm not sure what that would have to do with Coe.

Acually, the Lincoln Hwy used to go along 1st Avenue, which Coe is on, and then go out to Mt. Vernon.

I also like the idea circling around the oldest college rivalry west of the Mississippi.

A shut out, WH? Wow, that's pretty bold of  you.....even most of your own Knights don't think you will win, much less post a shut out.....

Best of luck to your Knights -- I think you are going to need it! Central has one of the best teams we have fielded since the late 90's, we have home filed advantage for a huge homecoming game; we will be well rested and healthy after the bye week last week....I'd be impressed if Wartburg stays in the game until halftime. :D

(Wow, I think that's the most "smack" I have ever talked on this board.....)

Walston,

Well I have to say that I am rooting for the opposite. ;D  But I will settle for a Dutch victory by 1.

Walston,

By the way are you coming to Pella tomorrow?  If you are stop over at my van and enjoy some company.  I promise that you won't be the only Wartburg alum there.  We don't bite either.

I'll be there. I don't know what time though. Was planning on rolling in around 10, but forgot we play on Thursday night next week so I'll have a little extra film Sat morning. Probably will get there shortly before gametime. I'll be the guy that looks like he used to play o-line in the bright orange jacket, Pretty good chance I'll be hauling around an 8-month-old.

Walston,

You will figure me and our clan out when you see the buttons we are wearing.  We will be there in the parking lot until about noon.  If you have time stop by and see use.  There will be a two year old and a 3 month old there.  So the 8 month old will fit in just fine.

KoHawk01

Good luck to all this weekend!  Wish i could be watchin' the Wartburg/Central Game as I'm sure its going to be quite the atmosphere!  Can't miss the ol' KoHawk homecoming though, I'm feeling good about the weekend vs. the DuHawks.  What do you fellow KoHawks see as our keys to victory this weekend?

I think one big factor is field position against Loras, its hard to march on that 'D', and if you make their offense HAVE to move the ball the struggle!  All I have for now!

Walston Hoover

The key to a kohawk victory is for them to show up. If they put 11 guys on the field with 7 on the line of scrimmage, they will win.

The loss two years ago to Dubuque keeps the Kohawk faithful grounded.  In the minds of most Coe fans no game in the IIAC is a game you can just show up to.

Go Kohawks!

I am hoping for a big crowd this year at homecoming.  The weather should be beautiful.  C'mon Kohawk fans let's show up tommorow because the team is one of the better Kohawk teams ever.
They are worth your time!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Walston -- is Dowling playng Urbandale on Thursday? If so, I'll see you at the game. (Shoot, there is a good chance I may see you tomorrow, too....) Hey, my Orange Clad Co-worker told me that you had a shirt for me to wear to the Dowling game....any truth to this rumor? (He was drinking at the time, so I'll forgive him if he was wrong...)  :o

OK we have the Lincoln Highway and the oldest rivalry. What else do we have in common that we can use, other then the fact that we're not suppose to like each other? ;D
fields marked-lets get it on!!!

How bout the Huck Finn Top Hat Trophy.
Nah. To deep.
