Just wanted to throw in my picks for the week

Central over Luther - 27 - 10

Coe over Dubuque - 42-35

Loras over Cornell - 30 - 7

Simpson over BV - 17-7

Wartburg over Augsburg - 24 - 7

Some thoughts ....... This will be another test for the Spartans against Coe, they almost pulled one out against the DuHawks but couldn't capitalize .... Should be quite the shootout!  Also, will Loras be able to keep rolling against Cornell?  Hope they don't look past the rams as they can def. play some ball!  Good luck to all this weekend!

Storm-what?

I know I missed the first week of picks, and last week, but I noticed I wasn't in the standings sheet. I think I am 3-1.

I posted my picked for this week a few days ago, but here they are:
Central
Coe
Loras
Simpson
Wartburg

Also, since it was kind of a suprise to me, congrats on the SC soccer teams beating Luther this week and remaining undefeated in conference play! I know it's a football board....but well.......it's gonna take a little more to get hyped up there this year! Not that they don't have it in 'em, just not much to brag on yet.  ;)

Was it Dutchfan that said this was an easy week to pick then picked BV? I'm gonna make you eat those words you know!! (*fingers crossed!)

This week's picks, just in the nick of time:

Central @ Luther:  Possible letdown game for the Dutch after that OT win over Big Orange last week.  It's Luther's homecoming, so the Blue & White will be ready to go.  I think Luther will put up some points, but Central will control the clock with their running game and will be able to keep the Norse offense off the field.  Central 28, Luther 20

Coe @ Dubuque:  Last time the Kohawks played at Chalmers Field, they dropped a 12-7 heartbreaker that dropped them off the pace for an IIAC title.  Coe might have been looking past DBQ to a game against Wartburg that time around, but I don't think Raeburn & Company lets the same thing happen this time around.  Lots of offense in this one.  Coe 42, Dubuque 28

Cornell @ Loras:  Duhawks ruined Coe's homecoming last week and now have a chance to show that they are for real on their own.  Loras may be coming together a the right time, which might mean bad things for Wartburg, who hosts Dewey for another homecoming contest next Saturday.  This one stays close for a quarter or two until the Loras D figures out the Wing T.  Loras 27, Cornell 13

Simpson @ BV:  Could very well be the most interesting pick of this week.  I'm predicting a defensive struggle, since Simpson still hasn't gotten their feet underneath them in this new system.  BV's QB can do some things, but he still hasn't found many consistent targets.  This one goes down to the wire.  BV 21, Simpson 17

Wartburg @ Augsburg:  Both of the previous meetings between these two teams have come down to the wire, but this one doesn't have the same feel.  Both of the last two games were in Week 2, where both teams were trying to work out some kinks.  This time it comes as a breather from conference play.  No Marcus LeVesseur is a help to the Knights, who will get a nice tune-up before their only home game of October next week against Loras.  Stat of the week:  Augsburg has been outscored by an average score of 48-17 this year and they've given up 60 points twice.  Wartburg 37, Augsburg 15.

After my unblemished record took a hit @ 1-3 last week, I need to bounce back.

I will go the easy route with:

Simpson
Loras
Coe
Central
Warts.

I don't know that UD can hold the momentum & play anoither big game like last week, but if things are going their way in the game, look out!!

Luther seems primed for the upset, but not sure that it will happen. If they can stay in the game until the 4th, good chance of it happening.

I think the Knights can call the score, but will make a point to run the ball. The D is very capable of posting a goose egg today!!
