Floyd,

I will somewhat recant my last post.  I went the IIAC site and saw that the line of scrimage was the 12 when the OT field goal was missed.  That is a distance that should be made.  I think that one is on the kicker.  In the Dutch game however I will stick to my last post.  I think that there were better opportunities to kick a fg to go ahead in the game not the last second attempt.  Hind sight is 20/20 but I think that having a lead in a close game is better than waiting to the last to take the lead.

Sorry... I assumed that I always had consent to use your TOAST line!  © Alfie Neumann, NA, 1999 (that's when I first heard it anyway)

Happy? :)

I'm glad I didn't take the 7.5 spread you gave me... I must be getting ed-juh-muh-kated now.  I'll give you Coe and 6.5 this Saturday.  It'll have to be for some sort of beverage cuz it's almost too cold to play golf anymore this year.

Jughead was wondering who you might be....

Did you talk to him since the beat down we put on ISU this weekend.  We discussed who you were, so he knows who I am.  If he is still confused tell him I'm the guy who had the biggest hit for the Headhunters on saturday.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Dsquared

Hadn't talked to him about you since last week... I heard that there was a Clown laying on the ground shrieking at one point.  Was that due to your hit?  I told him he was quite the vag for nursing the broken rib injury for so long!

Lines for this week to come tomorrow morning.
D-squared-Did you catch the "plague" this weekend?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Dsquared

Well... I got rid of it more often than I caught it... but I haven't seen it for a while, so I let the plague attack me for a while.  Went to Jose's and watched him and Royce take down a pitcher before the game... didn't see him after that.  Did you catch the plague at all this weekend?

Didn't even catch a hint of the plague. Basically only had time to get up for the game and head home so didn't see much of anyone.
You going to be in Ames this weekend? I got some tickets but I'm strongly considering the trek to CR for the Knights instead.

Picks for the week,

The BV Loras game to me is a toss up.  I think the home field may decide this and I am going with that Loras by 3

Central at Cornell The Dutch by 14

Luther at Simpson I want to pick Luther but, they have found a way to lose some how some way and it's at Simpson, so I am picking Simpson by 3

The game of the week in the IIAC the one with all of the marbles for both teams.  This one is a real tuff one.  The home team usually has an advantage but Coe did not use it on their homecoming.  Wartburg played the Dutch well on the road.  I am going with the Knights by 4

Picks for the week:

Central over Cornel - 24 - 7  Centrals run game prooves to much for the Rams .... That wing T could cause some problems for the Dutch though.  I see Schurring having a big day

Loras over BV - 21-13  Loras looks to rebound after they let one slip against the Knights.  I think the Loras D helps out the offense by throwin' some points on the board themselves

Luther over Simpson - 30 - 20  The Luther passing attack pushes the Norse past the Storm.

And now for the big one!!!!

I'm going to take Coe 24-20 ...... This one could really go either way :-\

I think Coe will find some success moving the ball through the air and will slow that tough run game of Wartburgs down just enough to pull out a close one!

Good luck to everyone this weekend!

Charlie Kohawk

You know, when you look at the standings, nothing really jumps out at you... until you get to Luther. 0-5 really? I can't believe they're that bad, and at least they still seem to be playing hard. Simpson, on the other hand, is a mess, if the student I chatted with in the parking lot after last week's game is even partly credible. I'll take Luther to get that elusive first conference win this week.

Do you suppose the Beavers are tired of busses yet? I'll take Loras to win in the Rock Bowl.

This is the time of year when the schedule-makers force me to root for Cornell. But it never works. Central wins easy.

And in the game everyone circled on the calendar when the schedule came out, it should be a doozy. This would be an ideal time for the Kohawks to play four quarters of mistake-free football. But they're bound to make a few, as will Wartburg. I predict Clark Field's finest hour in a Kohawk victory. (Would you have expected anything else?)

Big game in CR on Saturday.  Wish I could be there.  What is Suckow's status?  I know he didn't played the 2nd half last Saturday because of an ankle injury.  I was surprised nobody has talked about it so far.  I heard he got x-rays earlier in the week that came back negative.  He can't possibly be 100% though.  I figured with no Suckow Coe would need to alter their gameplan quite a bit.

And so would Wartburg. Hmmm?

Suckow is big part of the Coe offense, but I don't think him possibly not playing changes a whole lot for either team. Coe's offense has a lot more fire power than Suckow. I say, as long as Northern is running well the Kohawk offense will be clicking, no ground game, no offense and I really think the Kohawks will struggle a bit trying to get the running game going. The Knight defense is pretty amazing.

knightlife06

Wartburg's defense would definitely be simplified if Suckow did not play.  How is Coe's O-Line this year compared to last year?  They didn't have much success with Northern and Suckow last year, I was just wondering how they compare to teams in the past.  I can look at stats and such but they don't always tell the story.
