BV is tired of being on the road.

BV has had back-to-back home games...

I think he is getting at the point that BV has the worst road schedule this year.  Traveling to Coe and Cornell in back to back weeks, then making two trips to Dubuque within 3 weeks, with a date with Wartburg in between those two.  Pretty tough road schedule.

If you forget to make you picks this week.  You can give them to me before the game if you choose to come to Cornell for the first half.  Look forward to seeing you there.

I'll be there. I might even sit in the stands for easy entrance/exit ... I have not asked for a credential yet and would hate to take a seat from someone staying for the whole game.

You have to let me know how to find out ... otherwise just look for the black guy with the guy with a camera tagging along. We should stand out like a sore thumb.

Picks this week
I have Central, Loras and Luther ... and I'm only taking Coe so it jives with my Kickoff '06 prediction. Also because Coe is being nice to me ... and if the game is at home, and Coe is "in the ghetto," then I'd better watch what I say so I don't get in trouble with any fans. (time to give that joke a rest, huh?)

I think it could go either way, especially with the Wartburg D playing so well.

Of course, I'm picking from afar and off stat sheets and what not. Will be nice to see teams in person so I can base my impressions on something I trust more ... me!

Looking forward to landing safely in the CR (Can I call Cedar Rapids that?)

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Picks for the Week:

Central over Cornell 28-6.  Dutch keep on rolling.

Loras over BV 23-14.  BV has a long road trip and Loras is playing well this year.

Luther over Simpson 35-27.  Luther offense figures out how to score in the redzone.

Game of the Week...Coe wins a close one at home over Wartburg 24-21.  Northern steps up and has a big game with Suckow injured.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.  Hope everyone stays healthy as we get closer to the playoffs :)

Walston - What's your guys' playoff scenario? Win tonight and you're in?  Win both remaining and you win the league?  JSPC is in for the first time in awhile and play for the District Championship tonight @ Carroll Kuemper.

Win 1 of 2 and we are in. 2 of 2 and we are conf. champs. I would be happy with that considering we were one of 4 teams at 4-0 heading into the conf. We played 2 teams in the conf schedule that were undefeated when we played them and probably a 7-1 team next week. Even playing Indianola tonight will be a little tough.
I tell you what, we are earning our keep as coaches this year. I'm used to when I was in high school and college only having 2, maybe 3 "toss-up" games during the year. This whole "having to show up every week" approach is pretty taxing.

You'll have to let me know your thoughts on the JSPC vs. Kuemper game. Or aren't you going? My best friend is the head coach at Kuemper.

Oh, and I'm hearing nice and rainy for the BV/Loras game tomorrow. Lovely.

Picks:

Central:  just too tough for Cornell

Luther:  Both Offenses will struggle, I just think that Simpson will struggle more.

Loras:  Don't know why, but I have to pick someone.

Coe - the seniors haven't beaten Wartburg in their time @ Coe and can't wait to get this game underway.  The O line will be ready for the line stunts and the skills guys are ready to make big plays both blocking and receiving.

K-Mack, after the game, make sure you stop over to the tailgate area for some excellent food.  Hot chili and cold beers...

lorbec - Kuemper should be a tough game, especially on the road. Red Oak is probably the 3rd best team in our district and we just beat them 31-6 while Kuemper beat them 7-0.  I am the Freshmen D. Coord. as well as help call defense from up in the box for Varsity, so I'll be there.  We'll use a power running game, mostly between the tackles and try to physically wear them down.  Kuemper will use an option/veer attack, but like Red Oak, I think after the QB gets smoked a couple times, they'll go away from it.  They have a smaller, quick kid that returns kicks and is the pitch man on option, if he hits the corner, he'll be gone.  So we just can't give up the big play and we should be able to win.  If we get a little rain for tonight, I think it helps us.

I'm originally from Carroll High, so I wouldn't mind kicking them around a little!  ;)  But I think your friend is doing a pretty good job over there and he should have them prepared.

Kuemper will be ready to go Show, that's for sure. One thing is for sure, Kuemper will run the veer. Should make for an interesting contest. Kuemper's line is aboutt 1/2 as big as they were last year.

Show, I wish ya luck, but I do want you to lose twice this weekend. No offense. ;)

Sounds as if Cornell might be as healthy as they have been all season besides the first game which is good for them as they will need to play mistake free football and not turn the ball over. I am making no predictions basically b/c the first two weeks I didn't and we won then I started making predictions and we lost so I'll be superstitious and make no prediction.  ;D Good Luck Rams!
