Damn! I go to practice and come home to find that BV let one slip away. (It would have put me up with the leaders in the pick 'em too!) Sounded like Wartburg needed more than their long snapper and kicker though to pull off the "W"...

Is Wartburg's QB out for long? Never heard a diagnosis from the Wartburg webcast through the middle of the 3rd quarter where I left off. They might struggle with the freshman behind center, but should get by for the upcoming week.

Congrats to the victors today!

Anyone actually think McCarney will still be in Ames next year?

I remember playin for jdub, losing wasnt exceptable, but it did happen. Everyone thought he was too old to coach anymore. The unfortunate thing is that the best Neiman has done is with the jdubs peeps. Go Donny, Go Playground, Go Dusty, and Go Kirwan. No Offense to Wally and Lansik( I saw you guys in the JUICE)...Go Storm

McCarney should be gone show, How long does it take to make it to something better than the toilet bowl at your best. Ferentz has done alot better that with alot less time......

I think Wartburg is a very good candidate for a Pool C bid. I know from the way they choose the teams there are 5 AQ's in the West with 3 at large. I alson know that the NCAA does not have to take them from the West , but we all know that travel distance and money are a factor. That makes Wartburg very attractive as they can go either to ST johns, UWW, St Norbert's easily on a bus trip.

Where a school is located is NOT a factor in playoff selection. That is only a factor after the teams are selected, when they are paired up in the first round.

I have a question about region games. What defines a regional game. Looking at the QOWI it says that UWW is 7-0 in region games 8-0 overall. I know AP is not in D-3 so that makes one non region game. But how does the MHB game qualify as a region game.

Fun weekend overall! Sounds like BV and Wartburg had quite the game! Could of used a Beaver victory though

What happened in the Central/Loras game? I couldn't believe that as I somewhat expected Loras to give the Dutch a game, Heard turnovers were a big problem for the DuHawk offense.

Loras couldn't hang on to the ball. Fumbles and interceptions killed them. When it wasn't a turnover Central blocked a punt and scored.

I have the same questions you had. What happened to the Wartburg QB? Who is this frosh backup? What happened to the guy who is listed two in the 2 deep?

Yes the Wartburg game must have been a thriller. We didn't make the trip. Mrs. Warthog's dad represented us. He only lives an hour from Storm Lake. It is just as good we didn't think about going, I couldn't live through another OT game. Friday night the local high school game was an OT thriller that lasted until after 11:00. The Muskies prevailed 45-44 over Davenport Assumption. Probably the best high school game I have seen in years. Plenty of lead changes, few penalties, gutsy calls on both sides. The stadium took on playoff atmosphere since the winner was in and as it turn out the loser was out of the playoffs. (Assumption had only given up a total of 51 points in all 8 of their previous games this season.) Three brothers of current and former Wartburg athletes played major rolls in the Muskie win. I hope these players sign up to become Knights. Coach T. could sign up some darn good players at his old Assumption stomping grounds at the same time.

Wow did the Dutch ever stick it to the Duhawks!! I just couldn't believe the turnovers. Either the Dutch are absolutely perfect tacklers, or the balls were slippery. The Dutch were in control the entire time.

I've only been to one other Central game in Pella. It was against Loras on homecoming 2004. That was the best crowd I've seen in forever. Was it just a homecoming thing, the weather, because gosh you'd think at 8-0 they'd have the entire town of Pella around.

No clue on the status of the Wartburg QB. I couldn't get the BV webcast to work, so I switched over to the Wartburg one, but by that time BV was already up 10-0 and the freshman was in. From what the play-by-play guys said, the starter threw an INT on their first play of the game and then the freshman took over after that. Not sure if he took a shot on the release or what happened, they never got into detail. I had to leave for practice during the 3rd quarter, so never heard the post game either.

Lance's Gilbert Tigers are coming to town on Wed. According to the roster and game film, Lance's relation (brother?) is a pretty big focal point of their offense. Should be a great game!
