Not talking #%@*  just happy for the team.  Lots of down years so it's nice to see them have some success.

Lance Harbor

Well, crap.

To be honest, none of the other games we needed to have come through worked for us, so we were probably going to be left out of the playoffs, anyway.

St. John's losing, WTF.  I'm not surprised.

Congrats to Dubuque for having a winning season.  Way to go Spartans.

Lance Harbor

UDub fans may talk all the smack they want.  They'vve definitely earned it.

twister

sounds like simpson shutout streak is over as well.  from what i heard on-line the storm had a chance to score at the end of the first half, but the rookie QB had is eyes on the target entire time resulting in the pick for central.... good luck to the dutch in the playoffs, congrats to the spartans on their season as well....

BoBo

With Bethel winning, WB is probably out of the playoffs.

I've never liked smack talk.  It is what has made me leave other boards in the past.  Wartburg should be proud of the season they had.  They are a young team with a new coach that had a better year this season than last, they should hold their heads up.

First winning season for Dubuque since 1987, I am very happy for them.

davedevine

i must say from knowing what udub used to be like for a long time...
for them to finish 6-4 and handing my knights their ass today, that's a nice turn around..

their QB and of course Bellius are some good athletes and were definitely the difference makers today..
jackson had some huge plays..

one last thing,  when a team puts 9 guys in the box and you can't complete passes, it's tough to move the ball down the field

I drove by Waverly today while working.  I was very tempted to blow off work and go to the game, but my better senses got the better of me.  I was able to listen to a bit of the game on Wartburgs station, then when I got back to the office I was able to listen to the last part of the 4th quarter on the internet plus get some updates on here.  Not a bad way to spend a saturday when you have to work.

doolittle,

Those plans were given to all the coaches on the athletic staff. I don't think all of them are posted anywhere on the net, sorry.

So scan those plans and email them to me!!!  Come on, help me out...I'm dying to have a good look at these.

I repeat... WHAT PROGRESS?!?!?!???  So they'll jump from last place to #7 this year.  Minus a key D-1 transfer, their football team is 2-5 right now... MAYBE 3-4 (which is a huge improvement... but really... not enough to brag about).  You've got to earn respect in this conference... so the football team strung together (to this point) 4 conference wins.  Central hung 40 on them and Coe hung 37 on them in Dubuque.  If everyone else views "up-and-coming" programs as bottom dwellers, you have my permission to say I don't have vision and you can call me whatever the heck you want to call me.

Well, my initial reaction is to make Dsquared look stupid. But, then I would be just like him so I won't. But, let me say a couple things. First, UD's football season was not all Belleus or Jermar Jackson. Two definite impact players but even as I stated after the BV win, UD has many other athletes and it takes 11 guys on the field to win. UD almost doubled wartburg's offensive production today and brandon clayton ran very well again. The defense came up with some big stops as did wartburgs but today was the spartans day in waverly. Congrats on a HUGE win!! and great season!! 3rd place finish in the IIAC isn't too shabby. I wish I was there to see but I was still as excited at my computer listening!!

The Show

Not that it will make Wartburg fans feel any better, but BV just lost to the worst college football team in Iowa today in OT... :'(

Tough way to end the season for the Beavers.

Bethel scored the last 28 points to take down No. 3 St. John's 28-13. St. John's will be a playoff lock, however, and could knock a bubble team such as Wartburg or Franklin out of the postseason.

Pat/K-Mack,

Actually, the University of Dubuque Spartans knocked Wartburg out of the playoffs. You shouldn't be looking at other games scores until you report on the only one that really mattered in Waverly.  ;D

Smartie U:

When one of the schools actually logs in and posts the score then we'll go with it. If Dubuque were so proud of its win perhaps it would take the initiative the way other schools do.

Sorry, Wartburg. That had to be a tough one.

Congrats to Central on your win and your season. Make some noise in the playoffs.
