There are several types of apples.
My favorite of course being the honeycrisp.
There's the Gays Mills, the Washington, and the Braeburns that I'm aware of. Probably plenty of others.

I'm not sure any of those "rhyme" with any of the coaches on the staff at Coe.  In my book rhymes do more than add one letter to another word to make it a rhyme.

Red delicious, Golden Delicioius, Jonathon, and Granny Smith are a few more varieties that you have left out of the apple family.  Does that say that Raeburn is not happy at Coe or not appreciated?  Or is more of what is good for his coaching carreer?  I am sure there are many things that go into a decision like that.

Walston,

You have got to comment on your old coach being a finalist at UWW.  What do you think of that.  I do think that he could be a good coach there.  UWW has a great defense now and he may make it better.  What do you think his chances are.  UWW may just go with the home grown choice.  What does that say about his retirement from the Orange and Black and what does that say about Wartburg and Coach Willis?  Was he unhappy there or is this just to good of a job to pass on?

For the record, I have not heard one peep about the rumors Walston is spreading. Not that I necessarily would, but I think you must consider the source when a Wartburg alum talks about anything that may or may not be happening at Coe.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Charlie,

Good point about rumors, but this being the off season we got to have something to talk about dont we?

Merry Christmas to all and God bless.  If I don't get a chance to come back before then.

I heard at the end of the season that (B)Raeburn wasn't happy at Coe. Don't know if he wasn't getting support from the administration or unhappy with facilities or what. No idea there.
Didn't say anything then because it would have been complete speculation.
However, when I heard from my sources out east that he applied for but was turned downed for the Muskingum job, I wondered if what I heard after the season was true.

I just found out about Willis less than an hour ago and it does not surprise me at all. I talked to him at several football games this fall and he just seemed antsy to get back out on the field. I do think the job at Whitewater would be too good to pass up in regards to compensation and recruiting among other things. I doubt he has anything against Wartburg beings his brother came a few years ago as well to coach tennis and he just built a new house there less than a year ago. This was probably one of those situations that was just too good to pass up.

I'm guessing you wouldn't feel that way if the rumors involved a certain Central quarterback.

Don't hold your breath, DF1. I have too much respect and admiration for the Coe coaching staff to spread or respond to rumors.

It is time to put the rumor to rest!

I am willing to spill the beans to all my friends here in IIAC land

The truth needs to be told so I will tell it.

Coach Raeburn is the subject of another post in this chat room, that is for sure, but CK is not the SID at Coe.

He did do a great job as a color commentator for the Kohawks, however.

Good job deciphering that, Coo Coo..... ace detective work.

I heard that guys wouldn't of even been recruited by McMartin in the first place, but maybe he should have since he's led the team to the last 2 IIAC titles.

Coocoo-
Has Raeburn applied for any other jobs or was there something about Muskingum that he liked?

IIAC fact for the day:
Simpson avoided being shut out for 0 games in a row. A span of 1 game since a 23-0 beatdown applied by the Dutch. They are one of only a handful of NCAA teams that can say this right now. They have not scored a point since Nov 3, 2006.
