Wouldn;t be too difficult to just hook up the pressbox camera to an internet feed. Would be a little more labor intensive if more cameras are added.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

The Show

BV usually does it a couple times during the year for both football and basketball.  I think they have two cameras down on the court and one up above during basketball.  Not sure how many cameras they have out during football.  I think it's usually the broadcasting students who put it on as well.  Don't know the exact specifics, but imagine it'd eat up a lot of bandwidth usage.

Looks like former UD football player headed to the Buffalo Bills NFL Europe team...

UD's Daunta Peterson Headlines Buffalo Bills NFL Europe Allocations
The Buffalo Bills will send three players overseas this spring to play in NFL Europe. Two of the three players chosen by the Bills were on the team's roster in the 2006 off-season. Wide receiver Chris Denney and punter Josh Brazen were in training camp with the Bills last summer and will be allocated to the spring league.

The third NFL Europe assignee is receiver Daunta Peterson, a former Division III standout who played his college ball at the University of Dubuque. Peterson (5'11", 200 lbs.) was a player who was on the Buffalo Bills' radar screen after a solid workout at the Elite - Pro Scout camp in Indianapolis last summer.

"We had him up for a workout this past season and he showed adequate speed, as well as good route running ability and hands," said Meganck. "He is a raw, athletic young receiver that has flown under the radar since finishing up at Dubuque after the 2005 season and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do over in NFL Europe."

Peterson had a strong senior campaign at Dubuque with 63 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns. His top single game performance came against Blackburn when he posted 12 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns, all career highs.

The receiver, who has been timed in the high 4.4s also ran track at Dubuque, competing in the 60, 100, 200 meters. He was a three-time All-Iowa Conference performer and part of the 4 x 100 conference champion Dubuque relay team that posted the sixth fastest time in the nation last spring.

It will be interesting to also see where Walner Belleus ends up....

If I remember right from last winter, the BV student announcers were BRUTAL.  Walston Hoover and I could have done a better job passed out.

I bet they couldn't have been worse than some of the UW-Platteville students I listened to while I was in Dubuque.  My 5 and 3 year old girls could have done better than some of them.  But probably not quite as well Sportsknight and WH passed out.

Now about Daunte Peterson getting a go in the NFL Europe...Do we see some IIAC guys getting a look see every so often in NFL Europe or is this something new?  If so, congrats to Daunte and I hope to see Walner Belleus at least get a look from NFL Europe.  I am sure the Dubuque coaches will be spotlighting those two during their recruiting trips this next year.  "Play Div. III football for a program like ours and you can still make it to the NFL" I am sure will be a part of their pitch.

Freddie Jackson played over there and many others have played some form of arena ball but it is no doubt an accomplishment.
The same way that pitch could be used it could also be used against them. Dubuque has had NFL talent come through the last few years and the best they could do is win half their games.

If I was coaching at another school that is exactly how I would approach it.  "Come to our school instead of Dubuque.  All that talent and they think a 6-4 record is good".

Of course if I was coaching at UD I just might approach it differently. ;D

Looking up Brautigams coaching record you get a feel for how competitive the IIAC is.  He won 8 UMAC titles in 10 years at Mt. Senario.  Then comes to Dubuque...admittingly under tough circumstances...and it's taken him 6 years to become competitive.

I don't know how well that pitch will work to most kids.  If you're taking a look at D3 schools, you've probably disabused yourself of any ideas of playing in the pros.  Now with all the out-of-state players that Dubuque goes after/brings in, that may be just what those players need to hear to come to Iowa.

Could've gotten that on our Notables page a day before this post, of course.

Pat,
Should I assume I didn't get into the Posting Hall of Fame because of those steroid rumors?

I find it hilarious that every time a wartburg player ties his shoe correctly before going outside, one of the knight faithful on here is bragging him up. However, when a UD player achieves an accomplishment EVERY college football player would dream of, many of you try to spin it into "recruiting pitches" or the team only won half its games (which in case you can't count WH, 6-4 is winning more then half).

It's news boys! He's a former D3 and Iowa Conference football player! It should be all support from everyone on here but I do understand that the knight faithful may still hurting over that loss to UD at the end of the season so I won't take any offense to the comments.

Daunta Peterson is a heck of an athlete and person from what I know. And even if some posters on here hope he falls on his face, I am hopeful that IIAC supporters will wish him well and he lives every football players dream!!

Don't get your panties in a wad Willie. Doolittle brought up how that could be used as a recruiting pitch and he is NOT a Wartburg poster. We gave him his due and brought up how other schools may use it. As far as I know everyone on here is hoping he does well.

Got me on a technicality.
Don't think everyone is out to get you all the time. That's us they're out to get.

Reading Willies post makes me want to dig out "Conspiracy Theory" with Mel Gibson and watch that tonight. ;D

Of course, we'll just probably watch a Barbie movie yet again...but there you go.

Here's what I think might get WH's panties in a wad...his daughter tells him she doesn't  like football and in fact is a big soccer fan.   :o
