And he does not forget to post information on the Web sites, unlike some in the league.

Like having the 2005 season highlights up on the Simpson site until about a month ago when we mentioned it on this board!!!

I know, he posts info to this site quickly, unlike Dubuque, which gets your panties in a bunch.  Dubuque does need to get better and hopefully they will improve.

I am absolutely giddy over the Wartburg football schedule for 2007. Several great tailgating opportunities as long as the weather cooperates. :D

Not only tailgate opportunities, but winning opportunities. BV, Coe, Simpson, and Central at home. Road trips to Dubuque (x2), Luther, and Cornell.
The Luther game on the 22nd scares me since as far as I know that RB will be back unless he gave up football due to injuries and getting 50 carries/game.
Anyone know what to expect from Loras this year? A hundred years of data suggests 5-5, but this could be an anomaly.
Going by schedule alone the Knights have probably got the best to make a run.

I was wondering the same in regards to Loras ... Other than Brock Hall what do they return?  He was basically their team last year .... Any input would be appreciated!

Walston Hoover

Didn't they have a freshmen RB who was pretty good?

Just so this thread doesn't go more than 3 days without a post.

Does anybody out there have any recomendations for games my wife and I should make it to?

We were thinking maybe doing rivalry games like UD/Loras...Wartburg/Luther...Central/Simpson...Coe/Cornell or we also thought about hitting homecoming games.  Are there any must see games out there for next year???

Coe @ Wartburg for Wartburg's Homecoming on Oct. 20 should be a good one.  And probably your best shot to see the entire Wartburg contingent from this board.

Honestly, Central/Wartburg has turned into quite the rivalry over the last few years, and is one of the games to see every year. (Added bonus: Warthog throws one hell of a pre-game tailgate. :)

We're all about the tailgaiting.  We've tailgated at Iowa games even when we weren't going to the game.  Just tell us what to bring.

It looks like my parents won't have season tickets to the Hawkeyes this year.  So saturdays this fall will be spent either "tailgating" in our backyard and watching the Hawks there, or tailgating at some IIAC location and getting back to attending some great IIAC games.  It has been awhile for us.

DutchHawk

I dont know...the last time Wartburg hosted Central it wasn't pretty for the Knights! :)

You owed us for holding you to -8 yards rushing the year before.
Once the master schedule gets put up on iowaconference.com, I'm going to see if its possible to see a game in every location in the conference this year and try to make them good ones.

If you look at the games since 1997

1997 Central
1998-Centra
1999-Wartburg
2000-Central
2001-Wartburg
2002 Wartburg
2003-Wartburg
2004-Wartburg
2005-Central
2006-Central
5-5-The only team in the conference Wartburg doesn't have at least 7 (maybe even 8) wins against in the last 10 meetings.
I would venture to guess the same holds true or close to true for Central.
No doubt turning into a game I would miss.
The Wartburg/Luther game is great for the atmosphere, especially @ Luther when the orange invades the home stands.
You would think with the relative success that Coe has had in the last 5 years that some of those games would have good atmosphere, but I haven't seen that to be true.

Just looking at the Iowa schedule and was checking to see if I could make it to tailgate at a Wartburg game this year and it looks like the homecoming game vs. Coe is a good possiblity.  So Walston, I'm assuming you're planning on being there but didn't know if you actually taigate or not.  I've never really done any official tailgating at the 'burg and thought it might be a good time.  BTW, nice work on the canoe sight!

Walston Hoover

I haven't missed a homecoming since the downpours of '98 and I don't intend to this year. Tailgating at the "Burg is a good time. Homecoming is when it is at full force. Look for Warthog's crew and they are always willing to hook a brother up.
