I live in La Porte City...what can you tell me of Hadacheck???  Are we in store for a bunch of 5-4 and 4-5 seasons???

Walston Hoover

He was turning around BV before he started making a ton of money selling Advocare. I think he's got a gym there in LaPorte doesn't he?
I see him as being quite overqualified for that job, but if he can develop some athletes there in the offseason I have no doubt his coaching skills in game situations are top notch.
It seems like lots of guys I talked to that played for him at BV really liked the guy.

Wow, Union seems to get more "splash" hires than most schools that are 2A and have had inconsistent success in many sports outside of wrestling.  Jim Berry (ex-UNI head coach, ex-Loras head coach) had the basketball job there after he got let go from UNI in the 1980s.  There is someone else from the college ranks I thought they got at one point for football, but I also think that they hired the ex-West Waterloo football coach who took the Wahawks to the state finals back in the 1980s.  The Wahawks have not had that kind of success since then.

What happened to the old A-P assistant that had the Knight football program?

Ok, that guy.  Joe's gym...he also has one in Dysart.

I was recruited by coach hadachek when he was at BV.  He is a hell of a coach and a damn good guy. I went to the BV padded camp before me senior year, because of hadacheck and osterberger I almost went to storm lake.

I know he's an A-P grad but I'm not sure if he was an A-P assistant. I know he started with Union right out of college but I'm not sure if he was assisting at A-P or not.
See earlier thread about Hubbard being the new head coach at Waverly.

Tulip time in Pella this weekend.  The pofortjes (spelling) will be ready this weekend.  Can't wait to have an order of them with strawberries.  This is an added bonus to cheering for the Dutch and having your kid attend Central.  Do any of the other IIAC communities have celebrations?  I was raised in Southern Iowa and it took my kid going to Pella to get to Tulip Time.  It is a great time can't believe I didn't attend before this.  Hope the spring is kind to you all and can't wait for the serious chatter to start.

Celebrations in other IIAC towns?  Let's see...
Storm Lake:  No idea
Cedar Rapids:  The Freedom Fest (couple weeks up to and thru 4th of July) is pretty big down there.  I have to imagine the Czech part of town has a big doings some time of the year as well.
Mt. Vernon:  Don't know, but the Solon Beef Days at the end of July is a pretty big deal.  In addition to some pretty good food, they have a hay bale tossing contest, and a bunch of the Iowa football players usually show up and win.
Dubuque:  4th of July is pretty big in the Key City as well.  Plus the Dub. County Fair usually brings in one decent act.
Decorah:  Nordic Fest.  That and whatever weekend they play the nekkid soccer.
Indianola:  Don't know.  My cousins that went to Simpson said that three out of every four weekends they ended up going to Des Moines because there was nothing to do.
Waverly:  Heritage Days is the big summer event in Wave-town.  Even still, Wartburg's Homecoming is probably the biggest "holiday" that town sees.

Doesn't Indianola have the Hot Air Balloon festival or something??

Nothing is as overdone as Tulip Time in Pella. (I can't even bag on it this year -- I am going down tonight to run the 5K race and eat yummy Dutch food.....)  ::)

They still have some kind of balloon festival, but the national event they used to host has moved to New Mexico.
