Hey all, long time since I've been around, so I thought I'd throw my hat in for the 2007 season.

I was going to make some picks on the board this morning, but I don't want to light up the moderator.   :o

Please tell an old computer illiterate, like me,  where he might go to find this pick'em board.   ???

In Post Patterns under West Region Football there is a General Board and under there there is a link to Pickems.  Click on there and there is an IIAC part to it.

I thought it was a bit weird to go to two different places...but like you say, I dont want to get anyones panties in a bunch!!!

Congratulations on the IIAC Pick'em Board

We have had an ASC Pick'em contest since 2002.   The separate board really works well for fans to view the picks of their friends/fellow posters, and it makes tallying the results much easier.

If you have any questions about managing the board, please give me an email or personal message.

Below is the hyperlink to the IIAC Pick'em Bard

Hello to all of my fellow IIAC posters...good to see some of the familiar names on the board.  I will start posting again and I guess we have a pick'em page all set up for the IIAC.  Looking forward to another great season in the IIAC.
Go Norse!!!

Freddy Jackson got his second NFL touchdown in last night's preseason game between the Titans and Bills. Though I wasn't able to see the game, his numbers were impressive (4 rushes for 31 yards and a 1-yard TD and 4 catches for 80 yards). I'm betting Fred has finally earned an NFL contract.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Congrats to Fred.  That is a very nice accomplishment.  Hope that he finally gets one.

Just got back from the Wartburg scrimmage and they looked good.  The quarterbacks looked pretty good throwing the ball around the field.  First play of the scrimmage was a 40 yard pass and there were a couple of other good balls being thrown and a pretty awesome catch by Duchman during the 2 min drill.  The defense looked really good as well but that is to be expected with the group that they have coming back. Lansing had some big hits and the d-line got good pressure on the St. Ambrose QB.  Looks like things are coming together nicely for the Knights.

So Cornell had a scrimmage today against Eureka College, and things seemed to work good overall for the Rams. Some key plays and stats for the Rams:

On the first play, Hardman ran 50+ yards for a touchdown.

The teams Defense shut out the Red Devils during the half game timed scrimmage.

QB Battle:
Kobler looked good, he ran a  option play for a 40yd+ TD until it was called back for illegal motion (caused by a freshman). Ran in for a late touchdown after a big pancake block by starting right guard Pilger.

Bush ran for a 95 yard touchdown, during situational play (started backed up at the Rams 5). Had a few bad throws, but overall good play.

The rams still have a few things to work out, but most of the impact freshman looked ready to go and the rams man handled Eureka.

Purple Heys

Positionally:

How did the DB's look?

How did the WR's do?

How about the D-Line?

How did the TE's look?

Any kicking scrimmages?

Good to hear the blurb on Bush.  This is Dillon's QB of the future.  No Diss to Kobler, who I think is going to do well this year, cuz the Wing-T is his kind of offense and makes the maximum use of his ability.  In some ways its too bad he's a Senior...

Consider the following: Bush ran the Wing-T in HS, he know the offense.  He comes from a highly competitive football program at Plano East.  He only needs to get used to the speed increase in college ball and gain some strength and confidence.  He's got the athleticism.  Plus the young man gets to put in some work in the Spring due to the new ruling.

If (a big IF) Cornell can further develop pipelines to TX, CA, and FL...their will end their stay at the bottom of the heap.  Cornell recruits students nationally...there is no reason this cannot extend to athletes.

Some of their recent out of state recruits:

Thompson, Fullback, Colorado, Will be a 4-year starter
Macey, TE, California, Vista HS, typically one of the top San Diego, CA football factories...er...programs...
(High School of Leon Hall of Cincinnati Bengals and Pisa Tiniosamoa of St. Louis Rams)
Bush, QB, Plano East HS Texas, from the land of Friday Nights Lights
McCall, OT, Texas,  6'5" 275 FR with room to grow

Add in some fine local talents like
Don Bladt and Brian King

Depth is the final word on Cornell success this year and certainly for the future.
