Jermar "Leonidas" Jackson's day:
Net Rushing: 13-114 yards  2 TD's long of 57
Passing:  10-13-0   211 yards  3 TD's  Long of 58

That's well done.

Congrats to that young man.

Let's just say he's got a face for Radio.
Easy there.

I knew this was gonna happen when I got the HDTV and digital cable

For some silly reason the director thought it a good idea for a Corso extreme closeup..

I did a spit-take with my adult beverage of choice.

We were supposed to go to the Dubuque game today but stayed home to prepare our house for the open house tomorrow so hopefully we get it sold.  Tonight we had a football party with half UNI fans and half Iowa fans at our new house so we had the radio going along with the TV.  Hope the kid from the Cornell game that got airlifted out turns out ok.  Will send out prayers his way.

Thanks 'dog...

I heard there were some positive signs as the day wore on.  I don't know much but I hope in time, when privacy issues aren't the order of the day, they will release the good news when it comes.

Thanks for the prayers all and keep 'em coming.   :)

I know you're in the "biz" Sportsknight, and I meant no offense, but that is the unfortunate side effect of HD.

This was a bigger close-up than usual head and shoulder shot sitting in the booth.  This was a full-on head shot...on a 46" TV that's kind of a shock.

You and I both know the director is aware of those things...it's his job to flatter the on air talent.  This was hardly a flattering shot, what's more they didn't do the same thing to Chris Fowler.

Anyhoo, I apologize to Lee and any relative or fans of his I may have inadvertantly offended.

See...now they're not doing the same thing to Musburger...just the head and shoulder shot in the booth.

Just be glad there wasn't HD when Jim Lampley was caught on camera "nasal mining" up to the 2nd knuckle ...

Good comeback by the Dutch, without Schuring! The D came out well in the second half it sounds. Good day for the IIAC except for Simpson but thats alright, Bethel is tough to play at home! I imagine Vance will be ready to go next week, tweaked his ankle last week and this game was non conference and out of region so really it didnt matter tha much in the scheme of things. Congrats to Cornell for squeaking another one out. Time to start the real game boys!!  (and girls;))

All phases of the game were clicking for the Kohawks today. Tekippe looked like his old self, completing 27 of 38 for 328 yards. Wagner looked good as Northern's replacement, running downhill for 80+ yards, plus 80+ receiving. Big receiving day for the freshman Ratchford.

Rousa was perfect on three field goals and four extra points. Hemeseth looked good punting.

The defense was dominant again. Coe's d-line controlled the line of scrimmage. Let the conference season begin.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet, this was the same Aurora team that lost to Wisconsin Lutheran last week. The real tests begin next week.

Looking forward to IIAC play, the Spartans have plenty of offensive weaponry and so far, the defense (including the 2nd teamers) hasn't allowed a TD in 8 quarters of play. I know the competition is about to get stiffer but great warm ups none the less. Did I hear someone say Walner Belleus was the whole reason for the Spartan success  ???

Regarding the injured Cornell player...

Unless the school releases his name, I believe there are privacy issues to releasing medical information.

In general terms, I have heard the young man is OK and there is a possibility he may yet play again this year.   :)

Your prayers have most certainly helped.

This is a smokescreen that schools hide behind. Only the actual doctor providing care is bound by HIPAA regulations.
