Haily mary knocked down as time expires - Central holds on to win 17-14 over Loras.

Luther has 4th & 11 on WB 20 and they get a pass interference call...

Luther scores with :29 left on 3rd & goal
I jinxed there shutout

25-8 WB

I'm guessing sherden had about 60 yds receiving and 70 Rushing on the day

Rivalry, what Rivalry?  WB has won 16 of last 17

my game ball goes to Nick Weber with his 40 yd TD and goal line Int

The game became a laugher.  :D

I'm sorry the Knights missed the shutout.   :'(

I guess I'm glad Mrs. Warthog "strongly" suggested I stay home and work on the kitchen remodel project.  :-\

i take back my game ball for the WB game.. sorry Nick

WB's Defense & Punter get my game ball today
The QB had another nice game as well

Not sure I would call it a laugher... WB leads 13-0 with Luther near the end zone, interception turned it around.  Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if that play had gone the other way.

Anyway, nice win for the Knights.  Central has been dodging bullets the last couple weeks... I expect they will get tougher and tougher as the season progresses.

Well, after 2 weeks of conference play, here's my power index.

The index is based on a teams ability to win the conference championship and/or make it to the big dance

1) Wartburg – defense wins championships, offense sells tickets. With Luther putting up lots of offense against Central and basically shut out by Wartburg, except for a real late touchdown. Luther could have made it a game in the second half but the Wartburg defense made the play. It's clear who's the top team in this conference
2)
3)
4) Dubuque – Started slow but took control later. I'll give you this rating this week. You can prove your value next week.
5) Central – very suspect after winning a close game against a Loras team that could have given Cornel its first conference victory in 13 attempts. Things are not clicking like a machine in Pella, IA. Looks like Central might not make the big dance which is very important for a dominent team to win in the big dance, Bragging rights in the conference only goes so far. A big fish in a small pond doesn't make a mark in a big lake.
6)
7) Coe – Still on the bubble, could be around 500 in this conference, very close to moving down the index. Scored late on a weaker BVU team. I'm not convinced Coe can beat Wartburg, Dubuque, Central and Luther.
8) Luther – Luther has strength on offense, the defense has to be better to beat the top teams in the conference
9)
10) Simpson – Simpson actually led against my second strongest team
11) Loras – Played a strong game against Central
12)
13) BVU -
14)
15) Cornell – Sorry Cornell, you have to win a conference game first to move up a notch, win 2 and you might not be last in the conference. Will reconsider after the  first win. I'm pulling for the underdog

Hmm, I listened to the UD vs. Simpson game until halftime when my wife told me I needed to go outside and do yard work.  I come back in to find out they went from 7-20 down to winning the game 35-20.  I guess I have found a new superstition.  Go do yard work if UD is losing at the half!!!

Congrats to the victors today...the Knight defense put out some fires and got some key turnovers when they needed them.  And it sounded like the game was closer than the score indicated, but wins are wins and losses are losses.  It also sounded like the Norse stuggled where they seem to have struggled for a few seasons: in the RED ZONE.  Can't win many football games turning the ball over in the red zone.

Well, I am off to Philly with my bro to catch the Lions vs. Eagles...if anybody has Sunday Ticket, watch for us.  1st row on the 40 yd line behind the Lions bench.  I will be the Lion fan wearing the blue Calvin Johnson jersey.  Hopefully I don't get assaulted  :)

I hope everyone came out healthy this weekend and enjoy the Sunday football.
Go Norse!!!

Saw the power index and thought i'd throw in my opinions.

1.  Wartburg - sounds like both the O and D are clicking

2.  Central - Yes Schurring was out, but Loras really shut down their offense today

3,4,5 - Coe, Loras, Dubuque - really a crap shoot between these three.  You never know what you'll get from Loras and Dubuque.  Coe is Coe and they usually show up week in and week out

6,7 - BVU and Simpson- BV needs to get the offense moving and Simpson seems to be working out a few kinks still

8 -  Cornell - Very dangerous as always but they need to show me something before I bump them up

Whats the word on the injuries for Central?  I heard Hall from Loras sat out a majority of the game today ... what's the story there?  Any other injury news from the other schools?

Congrats to all the winners this week and I hope everyone came out injury free!

I hope the running back from Loras that was taken off the field on a stretcher and left for the hospital is ok.  I think it was a leg injury.  Sorry for that young man and hope it was not to bad.

Congrats to the Knights.  You dominated Luther.  The Knights seem to be clicking on all cylanders.  Congrats to Coe for a good win as well and to UD for the never say die attitude and coming back.

What about Luther?

Big win for the Kohawks to go to 4-0 before their bye week next week...
