2. I find it interesting how Suckow isnt getting nearly as many touches as a Knight as he did as a Kohawk.

He had 11 carries for 24 yards against the Norse.  VanRees had 11 carries for 42 yards and did not have near as many negative runs as Suckow.  VanRees is also averaging 6.5 ypc on the season.  It's still early, but Suckow is averaging 3.6 ypc.

Other than the first part of his freshman season (where he was dominant in lots of areas), I have seen Suckow as better on the edges, catching screens, other passes, and running reverses.  Coe the last few years has been more wide open on offense than Wartburg, so Suckow may not have the statistical year to match either his freshman or sophomore stats.  Didn't his stats decline somewhat last year?  He certainly played great against Luther in 2004.

Wartburg is strong at TE, P, and clearly on defense, no Suckow may not have to do much some weeks other than just be a potential weapon for opponents to prepare for.

Floyd, I completely agree with your assessment about Suckow being more dangerous on the perimeter.  He absolutely killed Luther in 2004.  Seemed like he was playing at a speed that no one could match.
Do you think Suckow be better served as a receiver in the Knight offense?  Or could they use him in the slot/motion him out of the backfield/etc. like the Saints use Reggie Bush?
Go Norse!!!

Is it just me or is there a lot more animosity between people on the board this season?

Thats too bad about the Loras RBs. I also find it interesting that Suckow is getting less touches. This kind of proves that he probably did not transfer because of not getting enough touches as a RB or anything like that.

Digger -- seriously, you may not think it's important to punctuate and use paragraphs and put blank lines in between them, but if you don't, some people just may not even bother to read.

It's courtesy, not to mention the way the English language actually works. We shouldn't be dumbing the language down for future generations.

I'm not sure what you've disagreed with me on other than the fact that periods are a good thing to use when posting. I spend most of my time in DM with work and football so if you want to hook up some evening or a Saturday to watch some football, I'm all for it.
Now-my conversation cyclonefanatic about what a coaches gameday responsibility is-THAT is a disagreement.

I was at the BV vs. Coe game on Saturday, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Pierce had as many solo tackles as they say he did.  He was all over the field, and he seemed to be about the only defender trying to take away the middle of the field in Coe's passing attack.  I think that Coe's offense is going to be fine as the season goes along too.  They took awhile to get going on Saturday, but in the second half they seemed to take more of an in your face attitude and tried to assert themselves by running the ball a little more.  I think with they way their defense has been playing, the offense has been doing whatever they need to do to win ballgames.  Coe's defense was very impressive on Saturday.  Their front 4 is tough to handle, and their secondary was impressive.  Their 2 safeties are some of the better safeties I have seen in the league the last couple of year, obviously Squires proved last year he was a player and Brockmeyer covers tons of ground back there.  Harrison and Thomas are two outstanding linebackers as well.  They are around the ball on every play.

Thanks for the post Former Ram!  These are the kinds of accounts/posts that make it fun to visit the board.  How did QB Hawkins look?

Question for anyone who played/coached against the Knights D since '01-What made them so good? As an offensive player, I really only saw our defense in 1 on 1 stuff and other than going against Vinny K, most of us held our own. Was it the scheme? the players?

Isn't it "Loras?"

I was a cheerleader for 4 years at Central -- so what? Man, I take a hiatus for a couple of weeks and look at what I come back to. (WH -- for the last time, stop picking fights with guys in here!  ;D) You guys don't play nice with one another when I'm not here -- obviously I'm going to have to spend more time on the board from now on.  :-*

Dutchfan--
Loras also invited Dubuque Wahlert to play their home football games at Loras College. Some of city games would definitely need at least a few bleachers on the other side. Luther's fans and UD's fans used those bleachers last season.

Welcome back Dutchie. I was wondering where you had been.
I haven't posted very much early on here this year either (until today). Sometimes this whole internet message board thing can just be too much fun.

I am sorry that I took offense to the loras cheerleaders being compared to pigs and cows. Oh and crickets.
