Storm-what?

Man, would have been worth the trip to Dubuque for this one!

Ugh, Simpson is ON 1 yard line, 4th down in 2nd OT

Storm-what?

Whew, QB sneak for Simpson, scores first in 2nd OT! Makes FG.... 33-26 Simpson up- time to hold Loras.

Storm-what?

Simpson wins! Great game. Glad to see that the Storm haven't lost heart- easily could have given up in 3rd quarter being down 17-3. Came back gunnin'- what a confidence boost for the coaches and team! Hope to see a few more good games from the Storm yet!

Wow... quite a game in Dubuque.

Wart 34  UD 17

Dubuque will make some noise I bet.

Announcers are suggesting the conditioning of the teams was a critical factor.

Now, the Knights go out of conference next week against the Auggies... bet the Auggies would prefer a wrestling match!

Great win for the Knights!

Wow, what a day for football huh?

I leave the house for a few hours and come back to all the great posts on here..

Ed & other posters, nice work on the updates throught out the days.  There were some great games today with Luther and Simpson and of course the knights.   I was trying to get to the end of the threads as quickly as I could read to see the final score.

sounds like after 2 quick TD's by UDub the D started to make some plays?

OU gets beat and TX is trying to get beat by KST.. it's tough living in Big 12 country when the Big 10 and Iowa are both awful so far this year.. I won't hear the end of it on today's whuppin that Iowa took @ Kinnick.. embarassing

Are you saying the conditioning of DBQ wasnt that of Wart I would guess. If thats the case I hope so because I guarantee Centrals in shape! :)

Sounds like some good games in the IIAC today.  Something I can't quite say about the game in Iowa City today >:(

Hope the player taken away by ambulance at the Dubuque/Wartburg game today will be allright.

Congrats to all the winning teams today.

Wartburg Fan

Five players for DB hurt, two taken off the field on strecher (spelling wrong). DB has 184 yds On O in the first quarter 120 some over the next three quarter's. According to the anouncers in their opinon DB D got tired. They were standing around with thier hands on hips and bent over at the start of the 2nd half.  Weber plays another great game for the Knights, Suckow breaks one for 50 plus yards. Dubuque a very good team that the Defense in the IIAC better be ready for or it could be along afternoon.  We will have to seen how they respone to their 1st lost.

Congrat to all the winner's in The IIAC and hope and pray  that the Dubuque player are OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any links to any IIAC game stories or box scores from today?

Sounded like the Norse D had a better game this week according to the post game reports.  Could possibly be some key injuries?
Anyone at the game give some insight?  What happened to that Cornell O?

Cornell O in the 1st half was MIA...I thought the Rams kinda went away from their strength.

Luther's D had something to do with it...but not all of it.  Didn't take what the D was giving until after half.

2nd Half Cornell stayed with the basics and ran right and and eventually through Luther's D

Sherden ran for 98 and was out, reportedly, with migraines for the 2nd half.

Credit to Luther's O-line and Pease the kicker.

Quoting Denny Green:  They were exactly who we thought they were...

Tale of two halves:
Luther 13-0 in the first half
Cornell scores 20-12 in the second half

Disappointed but undaunted.

Ah yes, the old Dan McCarney "We won the 2nd half" bit.
I didn't post earlier because I was waiting to see some stats of the game, but I am ecstatic about Wartburg's win over UD today. Sounded like Wartburg absolutely dominated the 2nd half.
I hope the UD players carted off are OK. BTW, what was with all the injuries to UD today? On the radio, it seemed like about every possession there was an official's TO to get an injured player off the field.

Got the boxscore-
After giving up almost 150 yards on the first 2 drives, Wartburg only gave up 157 yards the rest of the game. That's a huge accomplishment considering what UD has done offensively so far this year.
