If you all want to sit around and sing Kumbyah (or however its spelled) we can go ahead and do that too. That's boring to me. I like a little fierce competition.
As for any shots anyone wants to take at me, feel free. I'm on a supposedly anonymous internet message board. I can take it.   ;D

Well said.  The rest of you folks can say what you want to, but one thing that has become pretty clear to me is who has the thicker skin around here.  Wartburg gets jabbed at all the time on this board and we Knight supporters usually take it in stride, so long as its not something stupidly outrageous or outrageously stupid.  But some of you Coe guys seem to pitch a fit anytime something even borderline negative is said about your beloved Kohawks.  I mean, seriously, come on man.  There are much more important things in this world to get worked up about.

W-H...unfortunately that's the best your gonna get from me until it's Evil Empire week vs. the Rams.

Gotta sharpen up the Rapier Wit against our wooden shoed foes for this weekend.

Perception is reality, and it's different for us all. I think we can all agree on your last sentence though.

Because its UD vs. Loras this Saturday ... do you throw out the record books for such a cross-town rivalry and get ready for one hell-of-a-football game?  How will (1) last Saturdays loss to Central and (2) this Saturday's Homecoming affect the outcome?

As a side note, I was back at UD teaching in the late 60's and early 70's when UD - Loras athletic competition resumed ... starting with basketball.  Those were some pretty intense games.  The story (probably apocryphal) was in the late 50's at a UD - Loras wrestling match ... in a very tight, heavyweight class match, the Loras wrestler somehow managed the grab the back of the UD wrestler's jockstrap and snap it.  The UD wrestler then responded equally inappropriately and that set off all the fans in the stands with a "riot" ensuing.  Athletic competiton between the two schools was suspended for more than a decade.

The Iowa Conference in those days included Parsons College, Iowa Wesleyan, and Upper Iowa, but not Coe, Cornell, or Loras.

All that from the "For What It's Worth" Department.

The DBQ is way better than Loras this year.  The Rams had a chance against Loras and no chance against the Spartans.  The Duhawk defense is not that imposing with or without Hall.

I think the Central and Wartburg fans can attest to how good that defense is.  And trust me ..... its much less imposing without Hall in the lineup .... best combination of size and speed as far as any defender in this conference goes.   I hate to see the kid miss a good portion of his senior year but it will greatly help the Dubuque cause this week  8)

I think it has already been said but there are two types of people I don't like. People who are intolerant of other peoples cultures and the DUTCH!! :) Hopefully the Rams knock some dutch A$$ out of their wooden shoes!

There's only been a little namecalling. I can live with being called overweight since I grew up with the nickname Tubby. I'm just happy to only be considered overweight now and not obese anymore.

OK...here goes...your mother dresses you funny.

Thanks for the humor, Heys...we needed someone to lighten things up around here  :D    +k to you, my friend.

This has been a great week to just sit back and read all of the Coe vs. Wartburg, Raeburn vs. Willis vs. Koehler, Suckow vs. Coe etc. etc. etc....very entertaining so far.  Here are my two cents about the whole saga and with respect to Willie U, I will include a disclaimer at the end of my post.

1. Fact: Wartburg destroyed Coe on Saturday.  I didn't see the game, but from what I have read on the board, Coe didn't show up for the game and the Knights were ready to roll.  And the result was a beatdown.

2. The Post Game Handshake--only three people really know for sure: Raeburn, Koehler and God.  Until one of them post on the board about what actually happened...who really cares?  That is THEIR business.  It is absolutely disrespectful not to shake hands at the end of the game and I think everyone on this board would agree with that.  To quote Charlie Kohawk, "Perception is reality"  People see what they want to see.

3. School Loyalty--everybody on the board is loyal to one school over all the others in the conference and will post their loyalty.  No matter what.  And that will lead to some disagreements.  That is what makes the board great.  Good natured trash-talking is a part of the deal.  Personal attacks are not.

DISCLAIMER: These are just my views and opinions about the situation and are intended for everyone on the board.  I am in no way trying to attack any individuals and/or schools.

Now, let the comments, complaints and karma (good or bad) rain down from the board  :)

Note: Karma was at +11 after posting...we will see where it ends up at the end of the day
Go Norse!!!

dbljay-I gave you neg karma for being a Luther fan. Then I realized that since that handicaps you in your every day life, I better not hold it against you here so I gave you +k. I think the +k goes up 2 and the neg k goes down 1.
There's probably about 4,000 more people that were there at the end of the game that could have seen what happened saturday. Its not like coaches go into their own secret little room to shake hands after the game. That would just be, well, creepy.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

dbljay21

Not just a fan WH, I am an alum and a former coach...so is that three strikes against me?

I am know that there were people there to see what happened, but if your eyes can deceive you, how can you trust them  ???  I am just saying that the only people that know, for sure, were the people involved.  Thanks for the karma, though...even if you are a Knight  ;)

Here are my thoughts on what has been going on this board lately.

I was at the Homecoming game this past weekend, but I did not see any part of the supposed handshake that did or did not happen.  There is plenty of he said (saw)/she said (saw) but that is the beauty of a post board like this...it's your opinion and what you think or feel about a subject.  There is no need to have facts like the Gazette, no one comes to this board to get the complete truth....however, if you are defending a point it would be good to have some kind of evidence.  I'm sure we all agree it is disrespectful to not shake hands after a game, but I'm sure emotions could have overcome Raeburn and if he did in fact not shake hands, he look back now and see that he himself was unsportsmanlike.

As for the game, Suckow really to it to the Kohawks.  Kind of a slap in the face in my opinion.  But, Coe was well aware of this abilities.  Maybe he hadn't shown his full potential yet this year, but he definitely came out last weekend.  As a Knight fan, I am definitely glad to have him on the team and as many of you have posted if he wasn't a Knight, Koehler would find someone else to fill that spot just as well....so I'm sure a few of you are happy he is a Knight as well just for the simple fact that he is NOT a Kohawk threat anymore.

As for Koehler supposedly using his housing project to lure in Suckow, I believe that he did not do that as it is very unethical and against NCAA regulations.  But only he and Suckow know for sure....seems like quite a stretch though, Koehler has a lot going for him.  I don't really see him ever risking it to get a guy for just one year.  And as many Knight and non-Knight fans have said on here, he would just find someone else to fill that spot if need be.

To this weekend, another big game as always for the Knights.  Should be able to handle the Storm, but we all know that if you take a game too lightly can kick you in the teeth.  Have things at Simpson changed in the last few years or do they still rely heavily on the pass?

WoW, you do wear black tinted glasses.  I made a joke about mysterious sources, and Walston got all up in arms.

I've never had to go that far back and I'm pretty sure my track record on here for accuracy speaks for itself. None of you wanted to believe that Neil would leave your beloved Coe for the Evil Empire and now you have a hard time believing that your coach and a certain woman closely associated with the program can't take getting beat and leave it at that.
I'm sure Koehler was thinking way ahead last January or February when he hired Steege Construction to build his house. You know, if they can hire Suckow to work for them and he happens to be on the crew that builds my house, maybe he will see how wonderful of town Waverly is and ask me if he can transfer here to get away from Coe. After seeing what happens with your own head coach, I can't blame him for wanting to get away. Heck your own head coach is trying to get away but can't find a job anywhere else. After a loss next week to Luther, I have a hard time believing anyone else but Loras is going to want to hire a coach that is 6-4.

He is defending his coach, and what went on, like I care Suckow left, when it is obvious I am only questioning his sources.  Who has the thin skin.  He can't even respond to the correct criticism.  Which makes him look like an idiot.  For the record, I never cared Suckow left and I challenge anyone to find a post that says differently.  The only thing that could be construed as negative, was that I stated I liked Ashton Northern better.

I wasn't close enough to hear what was said, but I'm certain Raeburn wasn't offering summer work roofing his house.  ;D

Low blow Charlie!!  Bitterness that Suckow dominated his old team?

Wow, Charlie made a joke about improprieties, doesn't look like Dsquareds skin is very thick.  We make jokes and you guys fly off the handle.  Why don't you come back with a joke.  Or do they not teach creativity at Wartburg.

People who live in houses with thin windows should not throw stones.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!
